Really good hoppy stuff. Very fruity, lots of lychee and pine plus a good hit of tropical fruit. Lasting bitter finish. Really drinkable for the abv. Can’t help but like Southern Tier. cewldre (268), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

I gathered a good smell of floral hops and some toffee in there. As I began to drank, I noticed that this thing feels thick and syrupy... not a bad thing. The taste was exactly like them smell, with the toffee being up in the foreground while the floral hops didn’t come out until the aftertaste. As I continued drinking, this thing started to have a piney feel to it as well. Not exceptional, but good overall. GG (1678), NorCal, California, USA

This time they deliver in the style of barleywine, a beer near and dear to me. I never can get enough of this style of beer, so when the opportunity is there to have a new one I savour it. The beer pours out a deep garnet red, clear with a nice one-finger thick head. Aromas are apples, caramel, grapefruity hops and a touch of molasses. Flavor profile is pretty much on par with the nose. Caramel, vanilla, toffee, light fleshy fruits and a bit of hops. Excellent barleywine. Hope to have this one again. Aroma of sweetness O yes caramel along with some fruit. Tast more of the sweetness all over this one. Alittle hops just to round it out. Vert tasty. I keep saying this but can Southern Tier make a bad Beer??? I have not had one yet. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA

Malty dried fruit and good finishing bitter with lingering tones of the abv. Full solid mouthfeel and carbonation is good as well. All round good barley wine. swoopjones (1925), Buffalo, New York, USA

Not ususally a big fan of BW’s but this I liked. Syrupy & sweet with a nice hop backbone. Similar to Bigfoot but not as complex. well done Snojerk321 (2024), San Diego, California, USA
