Appearance :Ruby, clear ale with good creamy / porous top. Decent lace left behind. Nose :Fine refined alcohol, some roast notes. Smooth and clean , malty.7+ Flavour/Palate : Clean medium , full bodied ale. Solid malt base . Surprisingly refined for such potent brew . Sweet fruity aftertaste. At 10 % felt more like mid 8s.Neat prime example of this style. It’s more a bout clean alcohol paired with grain than hops.

Dry barley, toffee, vegetable flavor with alcohol in back. Earthy and slightly sour aftertaste. Slightly sticky feel. Alcohol doesn’t deter from flavor. Lacing. Mellows nicely. Not my favorite style, but quality stuff. shadey (1500), Rochester, New York, USA

Head is just wisps of white and ring of white around the glass. Aroma is laden with spicy hops. Dry and dusty but they are well blended with a malt body of caramel candy sugar. The flavor is a pleasant blend of big sweet malt and cleansing spicy hops. An interesting beer. Not sure I would call it an English style BW, but I can see the reasoning with the dusty hops as opposed to the juicy resiny American hops. Dickinsonbeer (3494), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is tropical fruits- passion fruit and mango, citrusy hops, moderate crystal malts, light sweetness, similar to Green Flash, even a bit of alcohol burn on the nose as it warms. More fruity and citrusy hop flavor, with some light floral and herbal hints, light sweet caramel malts, nothing too big, some earth in the end, and a bit more alcohol. Body is medium- not too syrupy or thick. Good easy drinking barleywine. aracauna (2391), Georgia, USA

There’s a relatively slight bitterness in the finish. Pretty tasty. radiomgb (2000), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada

The aroma is very hoppy, some citrus, quite herbal, some alcohol, caramel sweetness, very fresh. The flavour is very hoppy again, moderate alcohol, light spice, lots of caramel, huge amount of citrus. Rich and chewy mouthfeel, medium/large body, high carbonation. Finishes long, very warm, some citrus. A hot and hoppy barley wine, quite good. It made me more and more thirsty as I drank this. Fantastic aroma, quite smooth.

The aroma is strong hops, some citrus and floral highlights, some molasses and sweetness. This beer does not hide it’s high alcohol content. Very dry and full bodied. Nice complexity. The finish is a bit sloppy with some syrupy after taste. Very enjoyable beer. scraff (1943), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

Dank fruity hop nose with softer toffee and caramel tones. Pulls out some lighter vinous notes upon further warming. Flavor was front loaded with dark fruity tones and huge sweet hop notes. Falls a bit to the sweet side of balance. Medium to full bodied, soft slick carbonation, light bittersweet finish. Enjoyable now, but some age might do it wonders....
