Right now its like an Imperial IPA, with a sweet caramel pudding and moalssas backing and plenty of bitterness in the finish, its a mosnter in all respects, with just a little to much hopping Syd (910), Waconia, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 11, 2008 Big bottle pours a crystal clear deep dark amber garnet with a big off white head and lots of lace. The aroma fills the room with resinous hops, dark fruits, sweet caramel malt, and just quite inviting. The flavor is seriously malty, figs, prunes, caramel, and some resinous hop hints that tease more than satisfy. The alcohol is so well hidden. The palate is rich, smooth, and carbonated. I could use more hop flavor, but this works as an English style Barley Wine. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Clear deep amber with a small head.
Complex aroma.
Big malts that are held in check by some hop bitterness that balances yet lets the big malt shine through.
Well done. Odeed (1680), Bakersfield, California, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 4, 2007 22 oz. bottle my mother-in-law brought back from NY - Pours a slightly hazy brown color with a half finger thick off white head which settles to a fine film. Faint spotty lacing. Aroma is full of sweet fruity esters and doughy malt. The flavor is also full of esters and lightly sweetened malt. The alcohol is noticeable and lingers a tad on the palate. Medium to full body. A nice sippin’ BW. KieferUGA (461), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

Aroma of dark fruits, brown sugar, piney hops, and warming alcohol. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor is quite a treat. Very nice balance between the caramel malts and hops. This beer seems to mellowing a bit and it’s quite nice. Alcohol isn’t too over the top in the finish, which is great for my strike zone. Slightly bitter finish that lingers for a some time. drfabulous (1275), Columbia, Missouri, USA
