Commercial Description:
Inspiration can sometimes be found in the strangest of places. This eccentric brew started with a single flower from a hop named Hallertau. The delicate and spicy aroma present in the flower has been responsible for generations of great beers. Hallertau hops are to a brewer what an old tractor is to a farmer: reliable. Big Red expresses the nobility of Hallertau by placing it at the forefront of this Imperial Ale. Pour it into a snifter. A swirl allows the spicy aromas to come forward as a taste to the lips reveals the complex balance between sweet malts and the bitterness of hops. Big Red’s ability to please is as dependable as your grandpa’s old tractor. Please consume wisely.

Clear red amber pour with nice frothy head. Some roast with a bit of hops on the nose. Flavor is sweet, malty with a nice warmth from the alcohol. Thicker body with a bit of bitterness towards the finish.

22oz bottle, bright amber color, with a small thick beige head, leaving laces, sweet fruity, toasted malt nose, with some mild candied apricot, tangerine peel accents with a light floral hop spiciness, with a caramel aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a sweet fruity, malty syrupy, toasty character, with some candied lemon, orange peel fruitiness, with a nice flowery hop leafy accent, having a hint of mintiness, in warmth mouthfeel, leading towards a warming malty, leafy hop citrusy bittering finish.

22oz bottle. Pours a translucent orange amber with a medium bubbly/foamy off white head that left a spotty lacing. Aroma was a lot of sweet malts, caramel, biscuit, toasty, toffee along with flower hops with some light spiciness and some earthiness. Flavor of caramel, grainy malts, floral hops.

Aromas of toasty caramel malts, bread, some chocolate, and earthy, spicy hops. Pours a copper tone with a thin lasting head and great sticky lacing. Funky floral bitterness up front, a touch of cat box funk too. Malty notes of caramel, toast, chocolate, and some sweetness. Some light funky bitterness lingers on the palate. Medium carbonation, smooth drinking at 9%.

22oz - Aroma of crystal malts and floral hops. pours transparent red with a medium head and good lacing. Flavor is malty with a subtle hop finish. Palate is creamy with the alcohol hidden well. Not bad but nothing special.

650ml bottle. A very sessionable american strong ale. Very hard to believe this was 9%, I would have guessed half that. Tasted great.
