Commercial Description:
Cherry saison is concurrent with the best of summer weather. The days are long and warm, and the spring blossoms have gracefully turned to plump drupes. Much in the same way, our Imperial Cherry Saison undergoes subtle but noticable changes while cruising from kettle to bright tank. Like the sun ripening fruit, a pit stop makes this beer better. Cherry Saison is aged with French Oak staves, imparting overtones of spice and balancing the natural sweetness of the cherries. Cherry Saison is the first in this series to incorporate oak aging. Enjoy it as a dessert beer, or tilt it back while sitting under a shady tree on a warm summer afternoon.

Tasting at mcbackus 10/19. Not a favorite of mine at all. Orange/goldish color. Small head. Aroma is yeasty and maybe a hint of cherries. Flavor is like a belgian golden and I taste no cherries. Not great

Cloudy light orange with white head and lacing. Sour/cherry aroma, Full bodied, with sourness balanced by bitterness of oak tannins.

Pours a cloudy orange color with a thin head that fades rather quick. The nose is kind of bland and is semi floral. The flavor is nice and herbal with some spice and has a lot of cherry and hops in the finish. Overall it is a refreshing brew with some nice flavors but the finish is a bit watery and could use some more carbonation.

Decent aroma of floral and euro hops followed by some wood/oak, not getting any cherry. Flavor not very saison like, way too sweet, with tons of alcohol, and that it. Body/mouthfeel thick and oily, not very vibrant.

IT WAS NOT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING. IT POURED GOLDEN COLOR IT TASTE LIKE A SAISON BEER BUT THE CHERRY TASTE WAS MILD AND THE OAK AGING IS NOT VERY APPARENT. I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING BETTER CONSIDERING IT WAS MADE BY SOUTHERN TIER.

Aroma = bread, yeast, wheat and a touck of spice. Pours apple-juice gold with a large white head that diminishes quickly. No lacing. Taste = Belgian malts, wheat, hardly any taste of cherry or oak, touch of vanilla. Lively carbonation. Drinkable but not worth a second try.

This one was not so good. Had a sweet syrupy wheat taste and not a whole lot of cherries at all. Maybe thats a good thing. Light and maybe a little oaky, I was not getting much of a smell. Not nearly as interesting as the name of the beer suggests.

Hazy and orange-gold in the glass. I was expecting some sourness on the nose, some alcohol, or something out of the ordinary, but this beer has the nose of a very wheaty, very rustic saison that sports some heavy spice, too. There is just a hint of sweet perfume. I suppose you could call it cherry. Tasting is a whole different ballgame. The front end has a sweet, hop presence -- lemon, apricot -- some wood. Then just a little bit of sweet cherry hidden in there. Towards the end, the palate kind of falls apart, and the alcohol is rough and slick, the malts turn woodsy, and it finishes poorly.
