Commercial Description:
Cherry saison is concurrent with the best of summer weather. The days are long and warm, and the spring blossoms have gracefully turned to plump drupes. Much in the same way, our Imperial Cherry Saison undergoes subtle but noticable changes while cruising from kettle to bright tank. Like the sun ripening fruit, a pit stop makes this beer better. Cherry Saison is aged with French Oak staves, imparting overtones of spice and balancing the natural sweetness of the cherries. Cherry Saison is the first in this series to incorporate oak aging. Enjoy it as a dessert beer, or tilt it back while sitting under a shady tree on a warm summer afternoon.

bottle. In a day of drain pours, this one takes the cake. Expecting a complex, full bodied Saison and I was let down. Not very good.

A hazed golden yellow pour with off white head and lace. Cheeries, pepper, yeast and malt on the nose. Vanilla, large yeast and cherry flavor. Mild bitter and a slight warmth that I like. Medium/full bodied beer for the style with decent carbonation.

bottle at Ft Wayne tasting - Pours lightly hazy gold with a one finger head. It smells like yeast and malt. It has a dry, fairly hopped flavor, but where’s the cherry? If it’s in there, it’s very subtle. This brew has a medium body and a dry finish.

ABR ’08 - Pours a golden yellow with a bubbly white head. The nose is cherry and oak. It is very smooth; medium bodied with a slightly syrupy finish. There is lots of oak in the flavor, the cherry is very subtle. It’s a very wooden taste.

(Bottle 65 cl) Pours an almost clear golden with a rough, off-white head. Spicy aroma with fruit and yeast. Medium body with a sweet fruitiness, but not exactly a berry-like fruitiness. Also there isn’t really much oak character at all - perhaps a wee whiff in the nose. 190908
