Commercial Description:
Cherry saison is concurrent with the best of summer weather. The days are long and warm, and the spring blossoms have gracefully turned to plump drupes. Much in the same way, our Imperial Cherry Saison undergoes subtle but noticable changes while cruising from kettle to bright tank. Like the sun ripening fruit, a pit stop makes this beer better. Cherry Saison is aged with French Oak staves, imparting overtones of spice and balancing the natural sweetness of the cherries. Cherry Saison is the first in this series to incorporate oak aging. Enjoy it as a dessert beer, or tilt it back while sitting under a shady tree on a warm summer afternoon.

Thanks to my bro for this. Pours a golden hazy color with thin off-white head and light wisps of lacing. Aroma is light fruity esters, light yeast, spice and light toasted pale malt. Taste is more reminicent of a triple then a Saison in my opinion. Lots of Belgian spice, fruity esters, light cherry and mild malt. The cherry is well hidden until the finish where it’s tartness shows up. Not bad, but not a typical Saison IMHO.

Pours a slightly cloudy yellow color with a medium white head with some streaky lacing. Aroma is slightly funky, some hay, with maybe a hint of cherry. Taste is bread, hay, some saison funk, with a slight cherry palate. Would have hoped for some more cherry citrus funk.

Bomber. Poured clear bright golden with lots of rising carbonation and a short off-white head. The aroma was warm and inviting.. dried cherry zest and toasty oak over lemon zest and bready notes.. honey and other pale malts showed with warmth.. quite nice. The flavor had pale malt and lighter fruits at the core supporting dry, tart cherries and lemon.. peppery spices and floral notes at the edges.. dry, rather hot finish.. this dropped off a bit from the nose. Creamy carbonation on the palate with dry, boozed-up spices at the edges.. warm, kinda stale finish. OK.

Bottle: Pours gold with no head. Aroma of malts and cherries. Flavor of bread, malt and cherries. Not a great beer.

Medium orange bronze body with a thin white head. The aroma has musky perfume with some cherries. There is also a little bit of hay dryness. The taste has some light cherries and bread crust. There is also some strange ABC bubblegum. I wanted more from this brew.

Bottle from Capone’s. Pours hazy dark straw with 1-finger off-white head. Nose is funky yeast, malt, cherry, florals, rock syrup. Tastes bready, malty with floral funky notes, some cherry, and some yeasty spice. Stays somewhat dry, with the dry florals getting stronger late. Not a repeater for me, but not bad.

Pours a cloudy blond with a thin white head. Sweet aroma, but nothing special. Not much cherry flavor at all, I was kind of a little disappointed. Some yeast flavor, but nothing amazing. Usually I really love Southern Tier offerings, but this was just average. Worth a try, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

On tap at The Blue Tusk, a nice orange color with a very minimal head. The aroma is not overpowering but very good once you catch a good nose-full. Some cherry taste but not much. It’s sweet but not overly so. Leaves a dry taste in your mouth. I liked it would buy again
