Commercial Description:
Cherry saison is concurrent with the best of summer weather. The days are long and warm, and the spring blossoms have gracefully turned to plump drupes. Much in the same way, our Imperial Cherry Saison undergoes subtle but noticable changes while cruising from kettle to bright tank. Like the sun ripening fruit, a pit stop makes this beer better. Cherry Saison is aged with French Oak staves, imparting overtones of spice and balancing the natural sweetness of the cherries. Cherry Saison is the first in this series to incorporate oak aging. Enjoy it as a dessert beer, or tilt it back while sitting under a shady tree on a warm summer afternoon.

Had a bottle of this last night from By the Bottle in Vancouver, WA. Colour... light gold with a thick tan head. Nose... lightly cherry and tart. Palate... cherries in the front, bitter edges, tangy and a quick finish.

The cherry is very subtle in this saison. It is slightly boozy, but still delicious.

22 oz. bottle from Total Wine in Chesapeake, VA. Pours yellowish-orange with a thin white head. Aroma of cherry syrup blended with some bready funk. Taste is sweet with a bit of tart cherries. Some bitter aftertaste is also noted. I don’t pick up on much of the oak in either the aroma or taste. Not bad.

Pours a clear amber with moderately thick white head. Cherry flavor is nicely blended, however the beer overall is quite sugary. Flavor is slightly weaker than I had hoped for... could use some more finishing hops. Don’t think I’ll be buying this one again.

Strong cherry nose with mild oak hints. Golden body with thin whispy white head. Heavy syrupy, chewy malt backbone that is sprinkled with sweet cherry notes. Mild earthy burnt wood character. Acidic and astringent spice - slight citric orange notes. Does not mesh together well.
