SOUTHERN TIERS CREME BRULEE IS SIMPLY AMAZING SO I WAS EXCITED WHEN I SAW THIS BEER. HOWEVER THE FEELING LEFT WHEN I TRIED IT, THIS BEER HAS A SLIGHT HINT OF CHERRY BUT PREDOMINATELY TASTES OF OAK WHICH ISNT THE MOST PLEASANT FLAVOR COMING FROM AN ALCOHOL BEVERAGE THAT IS ONLY 8%, DONT GET ME WRONG THIS BEER ISNT BAD ITS JUST NOT GREAT AND FAR FROM WHAT I EXPECTED.

Bottle shared by Rciesla, thank I guess(even got persuaded to drink most of it). This was bad considering word was this was a new recipe. Strike 2. Flavor and aroma are mediocre at best would almost prefer to drink yuengling.

6/19/2008: The color of Southern Tier Cherry Saison is toasted gold in color and it is hazy. It has an ample amount of carbonation, but there is no head or crown on top. The beer has a lightly oaky aroma, dry spices and fruit, and a hint of funkiness. There is no cherry in the aroma. The flavor is strong and malty in the front and then becomes lighty spicy and fruity in the dry middle. There is a lingering spiciness and rye-like character. The only cherry that comes through is some cherry syrup in the finish and aftertaste. This beer is definitely on the stronger side; maybe it’s too big and strong since its heft seems to overpower the nuanes of the Saison characteristics and soft cherry...

22 fl. oz. bottle (Alc. 8.0% by Vol. / 19° Plato / 4.5° L / 2-row pale malt, malted white wheat, belgian candied sugar, cherries / kettle hops: magnum / aroma hops: sterling). Rating # for this beer.

22oz from the Wine Merchant in Findlay Ohio. Pours a clear gold with a white head. Nose is golden apples, slight cherry, vanilla, pepper, and some tart sour notes. Flavor is light malt, yeast, cherry, some tart chardonnay dryness, and a dry finish. A bit fizzy and medium-light body. Somewhat dry; flavor somewhat different from aroma. Interesting, but I would not seek it out... not nearly as "cherry" as I thought from the package.

Excellent strong saison. SLIGHT cherry addition makes this tart and crisp. I’m flummoxed by the relatively low scores here. I know fruit is for the finocchio, but still, this is a damn fine beer and should be treated as such.

Had a glass on tap from the brewery pub. Poured a darkish amber with an off white head. Had some aromas of vanilla and oak with a tad bit of cherry. The flavor is a bit sour with notes of cherry, little vanilla, and oak. Sour with a little bit of sweet. Not to fond of this imperial but the alcohol is not noticeable.

Clear light brown pour with quickly receding head. Aroma of alcohol, cherries, hops and wood. Flavor is primarily cherries, light hops, somewhat tart. Dry mouthfeel with little carbonation.

Apple juice colored pour...reddish yellow. White head, fades quickly. Not much to smell. Definite woody taste. I can taste a bit of vanilla, I think. I don’t taste much cherry, or much fruitiness at all. It kinda tastes more like a wine than a beer. Very dry finish too.
