illinismitty (1418), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jun 23, 2008 Updated: Jul 7, 2008 Bottle from Foodery II in Philly, ridiculously priced at $13.25. Pours golden with a slight haze with a white diminishing head. Very nice aroma. of Belgian funk and cherry candy. Medium bodied with an airy mouthfeel and a spritzy carbonation. Flavor is full of clove and yeast, with a pale belgian wheat backbone. The cherry is there, but you really have to struggle to taste it. Finish is dry, with white pepper and hints of oak. Could use some more sweetness and cherry to suit my tastes. Decent, but not great.
Hangover (672), Atlanta, USA Sep 5, 2008 Slightly cloudy golden pour with lots of active carbonation streamers and a nice fluffy white head. Aroma is woodsy, with yeast and a hint of cherries. Cherries really come out in the flavor. High carbonation, alcohol comes at you hard up front for 8%. Doughy, musty and spicy back-end. Lingering booziness and more wood notes. Good enough. badlizard (1439), San Diego, California, USA Sep 5, 2008 Bottle from VA. Clear orange with a fluffy white head. Cherry and wheat aroma. Crisp citrus malt and cherry taste with some hay notes and a dry finish. zach8270 (1407), Henrietta, New York, USA Aug 31, 2008 (draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Clear gold color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is wheaty and yeasty with a hint of cherries. Not a whole lot though. Flavor isn’t balanced very well. The cherries start strong but die quickly and leaves a flavor of yeast and champagne. Rather bubbly on the tongue. Could have used some more cherry flavor. demitriustown (579), Macomb, Michigan, USA Aug 30, 2008 Bomber: Pours a cloudy golden with a large sized white head that lingers. Aroma has wheat notes, a bit of sourness, light amount of cherries, and an overall bready scent to this brew. Taste is somewhat tart cherries, other intermingled fruits, wheat, and just disappears on the palate. The mouthfeel is put front really nice, but finishes into nothing with hardly and aftertaste. Overall, Meh...It’s alright. Would I go out of my way to get another bottle? No! I’d rather get the Hoppe or Unearthly. Beerman6686 (724), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 30, 2008 Poured a hazy yellowish orange color with a small off white head. Aroma was a little spicey and sweet but not sign of cherries at all. Flavorwas pretty bland not very complex in the spices, nothing bad, just really bland and no sign of cherries, only plus is the covering up of the alcohol.
