Nov 27, 2008 Aged 1 year. Pours deep black with mahogany into a snifter. Mocha head recedes to hug rim. Dark chocolate, espresso, and vanilla aromas. Tingly cocoa upfront with rich chocolate liqueur and espresso in the finish.

Nov 27, 2008 Bottle: Pours a thick, dark brown with a finger of tan head. Aroma is massive of chocolate. Just like sticking your face in a bottle of Hersheys! Flavor is another smattering of chocolate with some roasted malt. This isn’t a regular dark chocolate, but a sweet and creamy milk chocolate. ST is killin’ it with these specialty stouts! Nov 27, 2008 (bottle - 22 oz) Dark black pour with a very thin layer of tan foam that disappears almost instantly. Aroma is a huge amount of cocoa and cream. Smells like a chocolate milkshake. Not much alcohol apparent. Rich and flavorful chocolate and cocoa flavors begin as you drink and roll around the tongue with a mixture of cream and some dark roasted malts. Some coffee bitterness comes through near the end and leaves a lightly bittersweet chocolate flavor. Alcohol is very well hidden. Thick and creamy and absolutely delicious.

Nov 21, 2008 Compared with Stone 12th Anniversary Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout. This is much better. Aroma is chocolate with notes of caramel and vanilla. Pour is dark dark brown with a thick tan head that fades a little. Flavor is milk chocolate, dark chocolate and aftertones of toasted nuts and vanilla. Palate is on the sweet side but balanced pretty well. Thick and chewy.

The aroma is brownie batter and tootsie rolls. So chocolately. So good. Slight alcohol notes in the aroma as well. taste is chocolate milk, brownie batter and understated hops. Balanced almost perfectly, silky mouthfeel and full bodied.

Oct 27, 2008 Pours inky black, frothy head. Nose- waves of chocolate, mix of mikly powdered chocolate smell and minor roasty notes. Taste- chocolate velvet, not in sickeningly sweet way either; chocolate is very present in a creamy choco shake kind of way. some caramel and vanilla- crazy drinkable for 11%! Mouthfeel is good- not too heavy and carbonation is mild. 1000% better than its creme brule cousin

Oct 26, 2008 Bottled sample via (and shared with) oakbluff. Near black in colour with moderate carbonation. Single minded aroma of chocolate milk, with a hint of booze. A bit more complex in the mouth with some chewy malts and vanilla providing some secondary notes to the huge sweet chocolate flavor. Medium bodied and quite sweet without being overly cloying. Hides its alcohol well.

Oct 26, 2008 (Bottle) Pours beautiful dark brown with a hazy red glow. Liquid chocolate aroma. Very creamy, full and aromatic. Both milky and bitter. A gentle malt roast backing the chocolate tones perfect. Sweetish hints of candy banana, toasted nuts and vanilla. Well-hidden alcohol but some warming notes are present. The flavour is fat chocolaty with a gentle finish of vanilla, mild hops, toasted nuts and slim roasted malt. The mouthfeel is round, light oily, light silky and soft sticky with soft carbonation. The finish is a bit harder with a light bitterness. Lingering chocolate aftertaste. Near full-bodied. Complex: no. Yummy: yes!
