| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 6, 2009 (22 oz. bottle from Kappy’s, cellared for 10 mos. after purchase) Pours very dark brown with a thin tan head that recedes mostly to edges. Rich aroma of Hershey’s Special Dark chocolate with hints of grape/cherry. Mouthfeel smooth, almsot silky, a touch sticky at the back end. Light sheets of lacing and a syrupy film that melts away quickly. Flavor of rich dark chocolate and roast complemented by light cherry. ABV well-hidden. Is tasty enough lightly chilled but reaches its peak at almost room temp. Excellent. Joakgust (337), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 5, 2009 Bottle, 65cl - Dark brown beer with no head. Aroma is sweet malty dominated by chocolate notes. Flavor is very sweet also here dominated by notes of chocolate sauce, cacao and vanilla. Heavy bodied and pretty good dessert beer, but I wouldn’t dream of getting a whole bottle for myself. Slightly overrated. MIBRomeo (1965), Wisconsin, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 4, 2009 Dark black pour w/ a small thick oatmeal looking head with nice lacing. Lots and lots of chocolate in the aroma.. it takes a while to get beneath that. When you get past the chocolate there’s a hint of bitter cherry even the coccoa is a little bit tart. Very well coated palate, but not that thick surprisingly for an 11% but leaves chocolate all over your tongue. The alcohol doesn’t show up. The chocolate dominates, it’s bitter and milky and sweet all at the same time. After that there’s a hint of a dark fruit sweetness I’d say raisins for sure. I loved the sweet belgian style chocolate after taste. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 28, 2009 Pours black with a small, bubbly beige head. Dark chocolate and cream liqueur are present in the aroma along with some fruity notes. Very fruity upfront with a lot of sweet prune, some blackberry, and just a hint of tart cherry. Pleasantly bitter mocha surfaces mid-palate, and hit hard in the finish. Palate is full, bitter, and fruity. Despite the initial creamy mouth feel, it leaves the impression that you’ve been drinking whiskey and eating dark bitter chocolate. Beardface (1034), Eugene, Oregon, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2009 22 oz bomber from a grocery store up in Seattle whose name escapes me at the moment. Pours out a delicious looking dark brown with a one inch tan head. The aroma is totally chocolate, rich and inviting and the flavor is much the same but with a light fruit presence. Sweet but not insanely too sweet like Creme Brulee was for me. A solid beer, if a little lacking in complexity. DMRz (224), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 24, 2009 Bomber. Pours a dark brown/black with a tan head. Aromas of fresh sweet milk chocolate - unlike anything else I have tried. Flavor is more fruity and balanced, with dried cherries, raspberries, weak coffee, milk chocolate, and a somewhat alcoholic berry finish. Very nice... RCL (1483), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2009 Pure dark chocolate liqueur aroma. Hershey’s syrup meets Godiva with a nice hint of vanilla. Not super sweet as the aroma would imply, but oozes chocolate and cocoa. Very nice.
