Commercial Description:
“a stout of great contention” We are not the harbingers of truth as some may suggest but it may indeed be argued that our brewing philosophy is tantamount to a dessert with a bellicose past. How, you may ask, would a brewery determine a likeness to hard-coated custard? Our response is simple; it’s all in the power of history, and of course, the extra finesse needed to top off a contentious treat with definition.

By comprehending the labyrinthine movement of time, one would not think it strange to trace the errant path of an ordinary object such as a cream dessert only to discover that it has been the cause of cultural disputes since the middle ages. The British founders of burnt cream and from Spain, crema catalana, both stand by their creative originality and we respect that, but it was the French Crème Brûlée, amid the strife of contention, that survived to represent our deliciously creamy brew. 10.0% abv • 25º plato • 195º L • 22 oz / 1/6 keg 2-row pale malt / dark caramel malt / vanilla bean / lactose sugar / kettle hops: columbus / aroma hops: horizon

From a bottle poured black with a small head. Sweet malty flavor and aroma of vanillla, with a lingering aftertaste.

Bottle thanks to Punkrkr27...Pours black with a thin off white head.. Aroma is amazing with vanilla and cake batter ... Flavor was not overly sweet like I was expecting. It has that burnt flavor, almost like the sugar on top of a real creme brulee. This stuff really does taste like some creme brulee.. Also some vanilla and caramel in the flavor... Good stuff.

Dark ruby brown with a lasting tan head. Sweet and cloying caramel, fudge and vanilla aroma. Sweet caramel flavour with a cappucino touch. There is a little drying roast note in the finish, but overall, way too sweet. Fun experiment though

Pours a midnight sky with a luxurious head. Nose of dessert, caramel, vanilla, sugar, sweet cream, with a tinge of alcohol as it warms. Wow. Tastes like it smells, luscious vanilla, caramel, and cream dance in a loving embrace with your taste buds as they waltz done your tongue you get a hint of their darker side, a crisp bourbon flavor. You’re hit with pleasant crisp carbonation up front that ends in a pleasant overall mouthfeel that reminds me of eating pudding.

I’ll be honest with you, I love creme Brulee. I do, I’m a Creme Brulee fan. For my money, it doesn’t get any better than when it sings "When a man loves a woman". Pitch motherfuckin’ Black. Starts with some impressive looking head in a nice chocolate-milk suit. The nose is like snorting an actual creme brulee, then going out on the streets and wrecking shit. This nose is off the hook...sweet, vanilla custard...pudding. Flavors are somewhat sweet and very vanilla custard like...The hopping is actually quite brisk, yet the mouthfeel remains soft and creamy. The finish hides a little roasty imperial stout qualities, but until then, it’s sweet creamy vanilla custard.

Black color with a nice dark head. Aroma smells like cake frosting. I never thought I’d have a beer that smells like THAT! Taste is really sweet. It almost taste like a beer made from frosting. A true Creme Brulee! This is more of a dessert beer. I tried mixing it with Long Trail coffee stout and it was amazing.
