Jan 19, 2009 If you like sweet beers you’ll be in heaven with this one, I did not personally like it but based on what this beer sets out to do, it nails it on the head. Aroma is big vanilla, with undertones of chocolate. Taste is straight creme brulee. The only thing it is missing is the carmelized sugar on top. Very creamy mouthfeel.

Black pour with some brown around the edges. Off white/cream colored head. Quite a bit of lacing sticking to the glass with this one. Aroma very sweet with vanilla, mocha, brown sugar.
Flavor is heavy vanilla bean, followed by some roast malt and chocolate. Finishes just a hint of smoke and coffee bitter. Not quite creamy, which would really help if it was a bit more creamy. Lingers with you a bit, it really does taste quite a bit like creme brulee, especially when chilled. Gets a bit more diverse, and better, as it warms with more roasted tones coming through. The alcohol only peaks through a bit as it warms also, but still nearly non-existant for 10%.
A bit overpoweringly sweet for regular consumption, but certainly a worthy dessert beer.

Jan 16, 2009 Draft at Capone’s: Poured a dark black with a tan head. The aroma was coffee, vanilla, and chocolate. The flavor was SWEET malts, coffee, chocolate, vanilla, and some butterscotch. This is definitely dessert in a bottle.

Jan 13, 2009 Bottle from Once Upon A Vine - North on 08/09/2008. Dark black body with a creamy dark tan head. Aroma of coffee, vanilla, butterscotch, caramel, and chocolate. Sweet light coffee flavor, lots of vanilla, more butterscotch. Very creamy smooth finish leaving almost a sticky residual mouthfeel. Alcohol is masked very well for 10%. Medium full body with moderately low carbonation. Also pairs wonderfully with ice cream.

Jan 12, 2009 Bomber. Pours thick and dark brownish black with no head. Aroma is thick with caramel, burnt sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and butterscotch. Smells just like dessert. Very thick and oily mouthfeel, sweet at first with vanilla and sugar highlights that fade to a slightly bitter burnt sugar/coffee-ish flavor. Alcohol pretty well masked. Definitely a sweet beer, but quite good if that’s what you’re in the mood for. Recommend splitting it with a buddy.

Jan 11, 2009 22oz Bottle (Courtesy of SwoopJones): Pours dark brown with a smallish light brown head. Aroma is heavy butterscotch & vanilla. Butterscotch and vanilla are also the obvious flavors. Dig a little deeper and you find roasted malts, candied sugar, chocolate and a hint of hops. Very sticky sweet with lactose arriving at the party as this one warms. Man, this beer is super sweet, but very enjoyable. I’d like to see it in 12oz 4 Packs, 22oz is just too much of a good thing.

Jan 11, 2009 Bottle at Chris o New Year tasting 08/09. Thanks to Mes and Sim for bringing it. Very deep brown, thin beige head. Does smell of creme brulee/creme caramel. It’s a bit over the top in the mouth, yes it’s creeme caramel, but it’s more like a liquer than a beer. Bit too much for me. But nice. Could imagine drinking this out of a shoe, much the same as Baileys. I’m Old Gregg

Jan 5, 2009 22 oz. bottle - Pours a clear brown color with a 3/4 finger thick light tan head. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is big time butterscotch ( not diacetyl). Flavor is butterscotch, vanilla, light chocolate, and lightly roasted malt. Palate is creamy smooth and slightly dry. Medium body. I like this one and so does the wife.
