Strong vanilla icecream aroma which can be detected from meters away. Sweet very strong vanilla flavor with coffeish roast, caramel and fudge. Hint of alcohol sharpness. Might be good dessert in small does, but the vanilla is really pungent and overpowering.

Not only does it have all the deliciousness of an imperial stout is packed full with the flavours of a creme brulee. Dark black pour with a fluffy off white head. The scent sent me reeling; all the cocoa and roast maltiness you would expect, lots of good vanilla, and a shit-ton of carmelized sugar. The taste is so very similar, with the added notes of some dried fruits. Truly a fantastic beer. SpencerDB (91), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2009 Sampled at the ORF tasting. All I have to say is.... HOLY SH*T this stuff is good. The aroma is creme brulee, the taste is creme brulee, buttery smooth and sweet. Although this beer smells and tastes absolutely freakin incredible, I definitely would have trouble finishing an entire bottle. Its just too darn sweet. But for what it is, you can’t taste the alcohol at all and it literally tastes like you’re drinking dessert jcr (1177), Jasper, Indiana, USA

Yup, this is creme brulee, but with an underlying bitterness. Sweet aroma of vanilla, burnt sugar, cocoa. Hint of cream, caramel, toasted grain. The flavor is heavily sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes moderately to heavily sweet and moderately bitter. Medium to full body, velvety texture, moderate carbonation. An interesting beer. Most beers this sweet border on undrinkable, but this is an enjoyable dessert beer. Still, this is a beer to share, maybe with several people. sourale (1), Italy does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 13, 2009 This beer has an intense aroma of vaniglia and caramel, that is found also in the taste. Now its saying a lot that my least favorite Southern Tier stout is still a 3.9. Try the others. They are even better. This beer is just like it sounds in both aroma and taste. Its creme brulee in beer form. Very good. BigBeer45 (699), Troy, Michigan, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Dec 11, 2009 Bomber bottle,
has brown black pour with a tan and lighter colored bubbles to make a ring, I can see through this at the bottom of the glass, it is a very dark ruby, also, I can see tiny bubbled effervescence moving up the sides of the glass,
aromas consist of sweet caramel and chocolate, milk duds (?) brown sugar and chocolate liqueur (?),
there is faint vanilla with very little roasted malt and liqueur on the nose,
flavors of sweet chocolate, chocolate liqueur again, not much malt flavor, faint coffee, small hints of mint,
sweet and bitterness is not balanced right, I thought this beer did not taste natural,
faint alcohol warmth on the palate,
mouth feel is almost full and pretty smooth, there is some creaminess in the mouth and some warmth on the mouth and throat,
this is very sweet on the nose, not as much in the mouth but still a lot of sweetness, could use some more malt to balance, I get the feeling I am drinking a liqueur mix without the sweetness that comes along with a liqueur, yes, this can be a great dessert drink or a cold evening sipper but I can think of better beers to chose than this, anyway, it was ok but I felt like I was drinking a mixed drink rather than a beer.

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 6, 2009 On tap @ Dilly Deli, deep opaque black with some ruby transparency @ the rim, minimal head that dissipates to night sky haziness. Aroma is very authentically crème brulee, with sweet cream and rich caramel and hazelnut aroma. Very full-bodied with flavor matching aroma and oily sweet syrup coating the palate. Good dessert beer.
