Second taste: very sweet. I can taste the alcohol. I’ve seen the ratings on this baby start high and end low...but this is a nice beer. Maybe not deserving of the fancy box packaging. . .doesn’t have a terribly complex body. But it is not bad. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 12, 2009 Deep orange body that pours thickly into the glass raising a small, fleeting, white head.
Fruity aroma with honey and tea.
Sweet and smooth Just a small touch of hops in the flavor but not much bitterness.
The small amount of dryness is quickly overcome by the malty sweetness.
The alcohol is well hidden. iowaherkeye (1873), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 10, 2009 22oz bottle, no date thanks to moejuck (Joe). Clear orange caramel with a 1/2 finger light beige head, fading to a thin ring. The aroma had three things--caramel, honey, and oak. There are some floral notes in the background. Really sweet so far. Flavor has a pretty good amount of oak in the flavor with the addition of some toasted grain. Still pretty sweet, but at least the oak helped dry it out--maybe the alcohol also helped a bit, though it was masked very well. Bitterness peaked around a 2 in the semi-dry finish. Big full body with low carbonation. Not too bad, but really damn sweet and not terribly complex. Skinnyviking (4171), Copenhagen, Denmark

Sweet hoppy honey aroma. Mild and yet hoppy flavor with hints of honey and vanilla. Long aftertaste. Low carbonation. yespr (12407), Copenhagen O, Denmark
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 10, 2009 22 fl oz bottle. Pours slight cloudy deep orange with a fully gone head. Dry wooden and mild caramel malt, vague spiced note. Smooth mouthfeel. Sweet caramel malty, wooden vanilla and mild sweetness. Mixed with a light bitterness from a nice level of subdued hops base. Quite sweet and yet with a dry hoppy finish and a lasting wooden flavour. RollinHard (761), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 7, 2009 Thanks to tytoanderso for this bottle! Pours orange with gold highlights, quite clear with a head that dissolves to a ring in no time. Aroma is kinda how I expected with honey, apricot, vanilla, toffee, butterscotch, and some sort of toasty/wood aroma. Enough going on, but it’s all sweet and candy-like. Honey and vanilla in the flavor along with sugar-coated orange, toffee, caramel, banana nutbread, sugarcoated chestnuts. Finishes woody, earthy but only mildly bitter. Cloying on the tongue, yet dry on the throat. To me, the palate was bland; syrupy but without much weight to carry it, prickly carbonation, and not much creaminess. Oh yeah, definitely lacking "barrel" characteristics, so I guess it’s chips. This could be related to Avery’s The Reverend or Samael, but it just doesn’t pique my interest. lamas (728), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 6, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours a golden rust color with a thin khaki head. The aroma features some toasted almonds and coconut, caramel and malts, oakiness, and some vanilla qualities. Medium to full-bodied and syrupy mouthfeel. Starts off with a good deal of honey and some syrupy toasted almond flavors, heavy oaky woodsiness, light coconut, and some vanilla. Finishes with an oaky bitterness and nuttiness. Definitely unique. dmac (1500), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 6, 2009 22 oz bomber from EZ Liquors. Pours a thick syrupy looking reddish-orange with a small lacing of a totally disipating creamy white head. Aroma is strong and although no definitive notes of alcohol are though you definitely get the impression of the underlying 11% ABV from this bad boy. Cloyingly sweet with the aromas the label spoke of..well mostly..coconut(toasted though), almond biscotti, add in some molassess and some uncooked fig newtons. Syrupy thick body, a little to thick for this particular beer, light carbonation with some noticable alcohol warming as the goopy thick liquid slides down your throat. Flavors of sweetness and fruits wrapped up with some grains. This one was simply to thick and to strong to be really enjoyed, especially by one person trying to drink the whole bomber.
