Pours a clear amber color with no head at all. The nose is amazing. It has a nice nutty and malty aroma with some hints of light and dark fruit. As you sip on it you can taste the raisin and almond with caramel malt. It has one of the best flavors ever for an American strong ale with the booze well hidden considering it is 11%. Overall it has an amazing flavor filled with nuts and malt i just never want the beer to end.

Pours a clear, syrupy sunburst gold with a minimal white head. The nose is ripe with tropical fruits (pineapple, coconut), nuts (almond and praline) and honey. The alcoholic strength isn’t evident in the aroma. The flavor is severely sweet, but delicious. The flavor is bounty-like, with nuances of chewy caramel, almond, vanilla oak and toasted candied pralines. The Belgian yeast is spicy, but not really aromatic. I’m not getting the dryness in the finish that they’re advertising. Instead the finish is a little syrupy, leaving a super sweet coat over every crevasse of the mouth.

pours a small head and is glden in color. nose is full of caramel and raisins untones of oak. tasts like oak honey and apricots and almonds .

22oz bottle thanks to goldtwins. Pours a dark golden to light brown with a small off white head. Aromas of oak, caramel, some hops, and a Belgian yeast smell. Flavors of vanilla, oak, caramel, and some malts. Palate was mediocre at best.

Bottle. Pours a coppery color with a decent off white head. Aroma is oak, caramel, raisin. Flavor is caramel, spice, nut, honey. Palate is medium bodied, medium carbonation, finished somewhat dry and bitter. Terrible, this about the fourth or fifth straight beer from them that I have found to be less than stellar. Move over DFH, ST is quickly climbing my shit list.

Bottle thanks to ilovedarkbeer. The smell is nutty, caramel, raisans, malts, cocnut, banana, and sweet. The looks is clear copper colored with a nice white head. The taste is oily, roasty, malts, alcohol, caramel, and wood.

Bottle. Poured a clear, bright orange color with a thin off-white head that faded to a ring. Sweet, sugary aroma with hints of caramel, a light spiciness (pepper), light mint, and a light flowery hoppiness. Sweet, smooth entry leads into a dominating vanilla/oak flavor with some honey-like sweetness, a soft nuttiness, and finishes with a light fruity, dry hoppiness with some oak. Moderate carbonation, decent dry oak bite. It wasn’t really offensive in any way, it just didn’t stand out and anything by sweet and woody. Hopefully they will cure that with the next Cuvee release.
