| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Tasting - Perfect Pour. Clear sparkling coppery orange, white creamy head. Soft honey floral nose warms to light swirls of vanilla wood and almond brandy. Sweet honeyed dried citrus and light oak flavors round with touch of floral vanilla. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. Some intricate little complexities throughout, but not nearly as good as the rest of the big beer lineup... joergen (8627), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 1, 2009 Bottled. A hazy golden beer with a lazing white head. The aroma is sweet malty spice. The flavor is also sweet malty with notes of spices, leading to a dry spicy finish. Thanks Theis for sharing. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Thanks JCB for sharing. Pours a pale translucent gold with a creamy white head. The nose is spicy, oaky, warming alcohol, mild hop character, malty, not too complex. The flavor is buttery, weird, waxy and warm, not too hot. The palate was waxy and bitter with a warming alcohol. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Bomber via trade with phhd. Shared with my brother Evan after a night of drinking, as it has been in the fridge for a while. Pours deep orange with a bright white ring. Nose is sweet and quite nice. Taste is sweet with lots of hops and malts. Pretty big and tasty, surprised at the low ratings, but it isn’t as good as other ST brews. Tasty and different. JCB (1781), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2008 Bottle generously sent from my Secret Santa - thanks, Anwar!!! Orange to amber pour, fairly still body. Nose is a bit indistinct, with some maple, hops, and astringency in there, along with barrel notes. The oak is more prominent, and sweeter, in the taste. But I somehow feel that there’s not much there there with the base beer. Meh. MrRain (433), O’Fallon, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 30, 2008 650ml bottle poured into a tumbler. STCS1 pours mostly clear and tarnished brass-colored. The color of the beer matches the label on the bottle pretty closely. The head is almost non-existent and no lacing at all is present. The aroma is of wood, malt, alcohol, honey and pumpkin but very delicate all around. The taste is quite woody with biscuit (American type) flavors. The hop content could have been increased just a bit to off-set the sweet gourd and honey flavors. The finish is sticky and sweet, perhaps just a bit too much so. The alcohol makes an appropriate presence, not too much nor too little considering the content. This is a fine beer; one will suffice, thank you. This is pretty close to a barley wine in taste. I am a little disappointed considering the price and fancy packaging. It is like a really hot but shallow and mean girl. jefcon (1005), Arlington, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 30, 2008 Still and ruddy orange with no head and small beads of lacing. Aromas are light, but concentrate on vanilla and coconut. Slick mouthfeel, a slightly sharp dancing carbonation, a very dry finish preceded only by a toast accent of malts. Vanilla throughout, nutty, pretty flavors.
