Bottle from SL. The pour was dark copper to brownish, near to nil head and lacing. The aroma was strong oak and vanilla. The flavor followed with some firm oak, vanilla, roasty/ash elements from the barrel presumably, tannins, some caramel and light dark fruity notes in the finish. Body was moderate but a little sticky and undercarbonated. Alcohol was detectable but not harsh.

Lightly hazy deep copper brown colored body with a very thin and barely there light khaki head. Smells of sweet toffee and leather are very pleasant. There is also some apple. This smells almost like a barley wine and tastes like an old ale. The taste is sweet and earthy with some iron blood taste. There is also some pear and cinnamon spice. The finish is dusty with cobwebs. A decent and interesting brew with light oak notes being just a highlight, not a dominant feature. Very smooth for the alcohol level.

Draught at Coles in Buffalo, NY. The beer is orange red with a small white head. The aroma is full of oak with some dark fruit and alcohol. The mouthfeel is medium and a bit syrupy. I taste some more oak, vanilla, raisin, caramel, alcohol.

22 ounce bottle from State Line Liquors. Pours a clear red color with a medium frothy white head. Average head retention and lacing. The oak notes come through strongly in the aroma, particularly maple and vanilla with a bit of caramel and light fruitiness. Taste is citrus, raisin and other fruit notes with strong oak, maple and vanilla. Slight alcohol warmth. Full bodied. Very nice beer.

Oh so much better than Cuvee 1 thankfully. Dark orange with ruby highlights, thick foam, spotty lacing. Aroma is raisins, brandy, alcohol, oak. Palate is a bit oaky, sugary, slightly sticky (tacky), small bubbled mouthfeel, a medium sweet finish. Overall very good, maybe lacking in the complexity department.

Bottle shared at tasting. Thanks! Pours amber with almost no head. Smell is bourbony and oaky and malty. Taste is oaky sweet caramel with light hops but more oak and dryness. Decent, but not too impressive.
