| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 9, 2009 Bottle at Oliver Twist in Stockholm (thanks Jörgen!) Stunning sunset orange body and thin off-white head. Before you even raise the glass the waft of sweet malts, oranges and lemons hits you. Oily hoppy mouthfeel with cloying sweetness that envelops the alcohol completely. Nice bitter finish. A solid example ot a US DIPA. marctacoma (34), Fircrest, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Interesting stuff!
Pours golden, decent head. Initially, I noticed a wonderful sweetness, giving way to a biting hop finish. There’s a smoothness to the whole package that I really enjoyed. The hop character itself wasn’t spectacular or anything, but again, the package worked for me.
I drank this with dinner and an hour or two later went back to check the bottle to see what ABV% it was. I had no idea - I was thinking 6, maybe 7 at a push. 10.5%??!? To say that it hides its strength is an understatement. vyvvy (2068), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Pours copper / bronze with a clear sudsy good sized head. The aroma has fruity / orange hops along with pine and floralness. There is sweet malt hiding behind the assertive hops. Medium / full body with gentle rolling carbonation. The flavor starts with a balance of floral and fruity hops along with the sweet syrupy maltiness. The finish has more earthy piny hops. This is quite good fresh, but with any age I’m guessing this turns into a sugar bomb. daknole (3032), Scottsdale, Arizona, USA

Pours a brilliant orange./copper color. Off white head. Aroma is complex and wonderful. Pine, citrus and floral hops with some honeyed malts. Flavor is hoppy as hell but not in a bitter way. This beer is a showcase of great hops. Good malt backbone as well. Good shit!! Adam77 (409), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 6, 2009 I fucking hate this bottle. Beer was good but the fucking wax was a bitch. I almost cut my hand trying to saw through this. Poured gold with a white head. Aroma of pine and lemons. Lots of lemon with a hint of pine in the finish. Dry finish. Heavy. foundmd (163), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 5, 2009 22oz bottle. Pours golden amber orange with a medium, creamy white head. Fresh hop and citrus aroma. Minimal hops for the style. Lots of fruit: apricot, mango, peaches, and grapefruit. Goes down easy despite high alcohol. Somewhat creamy palate. Some may disagree but I find this a welcome departure from the typical extreme-hopped DIPAs. Southern Tier does it again.
