The bottle pours a nice hazy honey color with a large sudsy off white head. The first smell reminds me of autumn with a slight edge going towards pine and hops. My first taste wasn’t at all what I was expecting - it starts out sweet with caramel and toffee tastes dominating. The finish is very smooth (even oily?) and it takes a minute for the hops to appear at the edges of the tongue. It is extremely well balanced and does a nice job of hiding the 10.5% ABV. This is a very good beer for people that want to like hoppy beers but still prefer something less harsh. My overall impression is that this is a fairly good beer that I would drink again - but I don’t know that it’s worth the $10/bottle price tag.

When I bought this bottle I thought that the rubber seal over the cap was extremely cool. That enthusiasm lasted until I tried to open the damn thing. Almost cut my finger off! And then when I poured it I realized I had a chunk of rubber in my glass. Not cool. Anyway....It poured a dark gold with a diminishing 1 inch of head. Smells of pineapple, toffee, mango, and berries. Initial sip is sweet and syrupy that fades into deep bitterness. Interesting. Tasted notes of pineapple, caramel, resinous pine. Bitterness envelops my tongue as I empty the glass. The finish lasts and lasts. Decent but I was hoping it would have a bit more complexity to it, after all it is special enough for ST to coat the cap in rubber.

On draught. A rich dark amber brew with a fine off-white head and lots of lacing. Strong hop floral aroma. Perfumy. Dry hopping evident in both the taste and aroma. Taste is both sweet malt and Cascade hop bitterness. Very decent, but too hoppy for my liking these days. The older I get the less I like hop bitterness and the more I appreciate the sweet toasted malt in an ale.

Bottle. Heavy pine and grapefruit smells straight out the gate for the hops, moderate caramel and roasted for the malt, soap and broth for the yeast, and background notes of date, cherry and alcohol. Head is average sized, frothy, white with good lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy orange/tan. Flavor starts lightly sweet and moderately acidic, then the long fiish is lightly sweet and acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily and has a lively carbonation. It finishes lightly astringent. An excellently crafted DIPA, well rounded with all the aromas and flavors I expected.

Bottle Thanks to Swolf3! 22oz Bomber waxed cap. 15minutes in and I haven’t got the cap of yet, once I finally did there was rust around the edges....oxidized? Pours a hazy orange with a 1 finger white head. Aromas what were left brought pine, citrus grapefruit and malts. Flavors were creamy and malty, with some hops. Very balanced actually which leads me to believe this was an oxidized bottle.

Bottle, thanks to lukin013! Aroma is strong coniferous hops fighting it out with a medicinal bitterness. Pours a bright cloudy orange, topped by a big chunky beige head that lasts forever and leaves free-standing gobs of lace on the glass. If there was a beer to get 6 for appearance, this is it. Flavor is front-loaded with pines and honey, fading into lemons and vanilla, and then that medicinal element creeps into the bitterness. Finish is more felt than tasted, fruit-juice like mouthfeel, lingering tingles from the aromatic hops.

Courtesy of Sammy. It’s a beautiful, hazy orange-golden beer with a dense, creamy head. The aroma has notes of hops, spruce, orange citrus fruits, mango, papaya and caramel. The flavour has sweetness and notes of spruce, orange citrus fruits, mango, papaya and smooth toffee and it ends on a light, dry and bitter note. It’s very well balanced – truly nice.

22 ounce bottle shared by MI2CA. Pours syrupy amber with some white head. Real nice bland of toffee and maple to go with some pine hops in the nose. Dirty, gritty hops with a nice malty bitter finish. I’d say this is Behemoth light. Medium body, yet there’s still some heft. Average carbonation with a semisweet finish. Really good stuff. Thanks for sharing Ted.
