Beautiful orange gold color with a nice white head. Way fruity hop aroma. Medium plus body with creamy carbonation. Flavor is grapefruit and other fruits, with some caramel/toffee malt input. Finish is nicely, but not extravagantly, bitter. It’s lush. Makes me think of Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA in terms of lush. A very excellent presentation. Vas19 (299), Maryland, USA

Taste is sweet and fruity at first and moves to a strong hop flavor with just a touch of bitterness. Hides its alcohol nicely. A quality blend. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Some tea leaf in after taste (styrian golding) and sweetness. Mild carbonation. piscator34 (1134), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2008 Bottled sample via (and shared with) oakbluff. Fairly clear light orange in colour with medium carbonation. Somewhat restrained aromas of orange and lemon, along with some round pale malt notes. Well balanced in the mouth, with the c-hop elements mixing well with the pale and caramel malts. Slick mouthfeel. Seemed a bit lacking in terms of both the spicy hop and bitterness components when compared to the Ballast Point we drank earlier. However, it hides its high ABV very well. Solid overall. juiceisloose (677), Windermere, Florida, USA

The wax on this thing was crazy to get off, but it was certainly worth the effort. This poured a glowing orange color with a thick white head that leaves swirly lacing behind. The aroma is of fresh grapefruit, citrus hops, grass, pine, and a hint of toasted caramel. The flavor is really fresh and tasty of sweet orage, grapefruit, and pine that provides good bitterness. The toasted caramel and some light toffee provde a solid malt backbone that helps balance out the bittrness from the hops. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a light feel that is very easy to drink especially considering the 10.5% abv. This one is dangerously good and definitely gives the UnEarthly a run for its money. Southern Tier really knows how to do an imerial ipa, and I wish we could get them here in FL.
