Good sized frothy white head of fine dense and creamy bubbles. Recedes slowly to leave a thick sheet of lacing. Lots of hops in the aroma with some lemons, sweet caramelly malts and tea. Color is a clear copper. Lots of bitterness and sprucy hops in the flavor. Some more caramel and a dry grainy palate. Semi sweet but the bitterness really dictates the flavor and mouthfeel. Bit of red peanut skins and some tangerine and grapefruit rind. Finishes bitter and dry with a lingering alcohol tingle. A pretty darn good brew.

Southern Tier Gemini is a slightly hazy, light amber ale. The white head is small and dense with oily bubbles. It fades to a leathery film that picks up whenever the glass is moved. It has a strong, fully hopped-out aroma of orange and pine. It smells like fresh-squeezed orange juice and a Christmas tree. The malt smells pretty sweet under it all. It’s full bodied and smooth and fuzzy in the mouth. The finish is crisp. It tastes slightly sweet. The juicy and bitter hops seem very fresh and strong. The flavor is intense but well balanced. There is a very... outdoors... flavor. There is a touch of sour at the end and a long, piny aftertaste. It has such a great hop base of the 3 Cs and then the Amarillo tweaking out the aroma. Excellently crafted! Also: It took me about ten minutes to get through that wax.

Had to bust out my rotary hammer to get through the wax on this bottle. Hazy golden yellow with a pillowy off-white head that leaves a ton of lacing. Big hoppy aroma that is floral, citric, and fruity (melon, mango). Big hops flavor with moderate bitterness (for an IIPA, that is) balanced by a honey/caramel sweetness. I get some mango again in the flavor. Full body, bit not quite as sticky as Unearthly. Very Nice, but Hoppe is still my pick of the three.

22oz - After busting through the wax, I found a golden, cloudy ale with nice lace. The palate was nice, a balance between hop and malt. Good.

After getting through seemingly impenetrable wax, I popped this baby. The hop aroma just wafts from the bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with minmal head. The bitter to sweet balance is perfect in this stuff, as well as the bittering hops to floral ones. Hop profile starts on a dank note but surprisingly ends on a citrus note. Almost a salty aftertaste - I would definitely drink this again!

Pours hazy gold with large white head. Aroma is hops, (cascade possibly) citrus and pine. Palate has slight carbonation and actually is pretty light. Hops dominate the flavor, Pine and citrus as in the aroma. The alcohol is well disguised and bitter acidic almost lemon finish.

Pours a semi hazy amber color with mdium sized white head that leaves abundant anounts of lacing. Aroma is very piney, resinous and earthy with bits of grapefruit poking through. Taste is resinous piney hops, earth, caramel, and citrus. The ST house flavor makes an appearance as well. I prefer more citrus and floral IPAs and DIPAs then earth and piney. Alcohol is well hidden.

Bottle. Body-honey body with a very thick ring of bubbles and an island of bubbles. Nose-very big sweet PNW hops, grapefruit, clean, very aggressive nose even for an IIPA. Taste-not nearly as sweet and sticky as the nose would indicate, good tasting malts, medium t medium high bitterness, unsweet perfumey, very hoppy (of course), light Pine-Sol, watered down grapefruit juice. Finishes slightly acidic and sharp. Nice for what it is.
