Aroma has a bunch of caramel and a touch of honey balanced by a nice citrus hoppiness. Flavor has some fresh fruits, caramel sweetness and good smooth bitterness with some citrus and pine. Palate is full and smooth carbonation provides some creaminess. Another tasty one from Southern Tier. JoeTheYounger (288), California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 31, 2009 Bottle, with a big thanks to Jon. Poured a clear and dull, but vibrant orange color. Aroma was well balanced for the style; both malty and hoppy. Caramel and toffee for the malt profile, while the hops were piney and citrus. Palate was nice, close to creamy, with a bit of resin. Flavor was very drinkable and the alcohol was well hidden. Perhaps due to some blending, this beer was well balanced. Caramel and toffee meshing well with pine, earth and citrus. Thanks Jon. monkeychugg55 (242), Joliet, Illinois, USA

Lots of lacing. A sweet caramel and toffee backbone supports a huge PNW hop profile. Lots of fruit...pineapple, grapefruit, orange, mango and some pine resin. Awesome flavor! Sweet tropical fruit, with a good mix of citrus and pine. Nice malt too, nice and sweet with caramel and toffee. The body on this is massive, rich and chewy. Very well balanced and has a long bitter finish. Great beer. (wax dipped painted-on label) Savvy1982 (322), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

Such a lovely community we have here at Ratebeer. Very nice IIPA, Poured medium-amber with a sticky off-white head, spotty lacing. Nose is spicy, citrussy, well-rounded. Palate is full-bodied, a bit boozy, appropriately bitter, nice biscuit, grapefruit, pine. I feel this was a bit on the downslide. It just happens to damned fast for IIPAs. hobbersr (412), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada

Pours a hazy orange with a small head that laces nicely. Aroma is toffee, pine, alcohol, bread, and citrus. Tasty complex beer. Toffee, honey, pine, soft fruit, wheat, and bitterness, OK mouth feel. Pours a dark golden orange/ light amber color with a huge frothy white foam head that has excellent retention, leaving large chunks of lacing all over the glass. Strong golden ale aroma, surprisingly, with lots of light crisp fruit notes complementing the huge citrus and floral hop presence. Chewy, resinous full body for the style. The strong golden ale fruit notes are there but are dominated by a massive floral/citrus hop explosion. Hints of apple, pear and grape noticeable underneath the piney hops. This is a unique blend that is very well balanced, cancelling out the extremities of both the Hoppe and Unearthly.
