| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Nice clear, golden yellow color with a decent stark-white head. Flowery hop aromas and then a floral taste as well. Some maltiness in the back, bitterness, nice beer. I wouldn’t have suspected this is an ESB. Thanks to vwcraig for including this on a recent trade.

| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 5, 2009 What a surprise this beer was. Most of the "exceptional" Southern Tier ales are only available in 22oz. bottles. Most of their 12 oz. bottles are good beers but not exceptional. Harvest Ale is exceptional. A great hoppy earthy flavor. Not much of a lasting head, but a great smooth finish. It’s a shame it’s seasonal. dlovell2 (141), Columbia, Maryland, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 2/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 24, 2009 Clear Gold color. WHite head quickly disappeared. Citrus and Pine aroma. Grassy start then citrus and pine flavors follow. Smooth Finish. Thin watery feel in mouth. This is a nice hoppy beer. popkow (112), New York, New York, USA

While not a fan of hoppy ale this ESB delivers. I believe the added fresh malted barley smoothes the tartness from the hops. A apricot flavor is faintly there and this beer is excellent.
