Commercial Description:
Harvest Ale is our celebration of the changing weather and the sowing of hops and barley that will be used in our upcoming brews. We usher in the fall with a classic English style Extra Special Bitter of the highest order. Deep ruby in color with an even deeper hop flavor… in fact, we throw fresh English hops into every brewing vessel, then dry hop after fermentation to impart a zesty kick. This beer has real hop character that mingles with fresh malted barley for an experience that will make you wish it were fall year ‘round.

12 oz bottle-pours a thin off white head and gold color. Aroma is lemon-citrus/pine hops, secondary medium malt. Taste is soapy, dry grapefruit rinds, tannins/aspirin, husky.

Poured from a 12oz bottle and served in an English pint glass. This beer poured a clear, light amber with a thin head of off-white foam that showed some decent retention. Solid lacing covered the entire glass. The aroma was made up of bright citrus and apricot, along with a light underlying note of caramel. Smells really fresh, but not overpowering. The flavor was moderately bitter, featuring mild grapefruit, apricot, caramel, and also some lightly toasted bread. A hint of mildly astringent orange peel started to creep in towards the end of the glass. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and lightly carbonated. Slightly sticky. Overall, this was a really nice beer. Quite tasty and sessionable.

Really good. Nice hop aroma/flavor. Bitterness is not overpowering. There is a solid resinous flavor, without a lingering bitterness on the palate. Well balanced, clean, crisp, a very well done harvest ale.

Bottle from 3 Sons and Great Bitter, but not ruby in color. Golden with great head and lacing. Really big hops all the way through with exceptionally clean finnish. Much Like Matt and Finns

Picked up at the United Liquors in Frankfort, IL: This pours a clear yellow/gold body with a frothy white head that performs heavy lacework. It has a solid aroma of floral and citrus zest hops smells over a lightly sweet grainy malt. The bitterness from the hops is quite pronounced in the flavor, overshadowing the sweetness from the grains. Dry bitter finish. Nice.

Sweet malt aroma with light grain. Cloudy dark yellow color with a small white head. Fruity malt beginning with a mild amount of hops in the middle and finish. Somewhat sticky palate.

Bottle: Pours a nice golden with good clarity and a strong/creamy white head. The aroma is a nice mix of American & British hop varieties- crispy citrus cascade bouquet and some crackery dried malt in the back. Has a nice creamy texture. The flavor has an interesting malt character offering cracker and peanut skins. Crisp American hops come through with a spicy citrus notes and zest. The finish leans toward the British hop varieties with a mild herbal note into the solid bitter ending. Very nice stuff.

Really a nice harvest ale. Straw gold in the glass with a good sized head. Plenty of hops and a clean finish. Fresh-tasting and light bodied.
