Commercial Description:
Harvest Ale is our celebration of the changing weather and the sowing of hops and barley that will be used in our upcoming brews. We usher in the fall with a classic English style Extra Special Bitter of the highest order. Deep ruby in color with an even deeper hop flavor… in fact, we throw fresh English hops into every brewing vessel, then dry hop after fermentation to impart a zesty kick. This beer has real hop character that mingles with fresh malted barley for an experience that will make you wish it were fall year ‘round.

Pours golden with a white head. Tons of hops on the aroma, mostly pine, and a touch of malt. Lots more hops on the flavor, bitter but under control, malt is good for balance. Not my favorite style but still a solid beer.

Pours a clear yellow gold with a medium white head. Aroma of bitter piney hops with a floral tone touch. Taste is bitter hoppy with hints of light pine and grapefruit.

Pours a very clear light copper color with a small white head. Aroma is medium sweet, light grapefruit and malty. Flavor is grapefruit, light caramel, light spice and bready. Medium dry finish. Light-medium body, light sticky texture.

Say, this is good. Wasn’t sure what to expect; thought it might be an Oktoberfest style. Instead lovely fresh hops on the nose, and nice and toasty malt. Slightly nutty flavor of toasted pumpkin seeds. Good malt balance. Really tasty.

ST, expecting an over the top experience. Lid pop yeilds hop candy pine aroma. Looks ubiquitous pale yellow but is sparkling nicely. Rude hop taste bud bitter mowing palate. Premium bitter? More like an IPA. Soapy oily with lots of biting personality. Lingering bitter nearly terrible slippery mouth coating medicinal finish. Most likely would not purchase again. Burping volatile hoppy gasses. Quite difficult one time 12 oz bottle.

Bottle: pours a nice clear golden amber color with a frothy white head, nice fresh hoppy aroma, a little citrus, taste is hoppy with a nice bitter finish - though not overpowering bitterness, I could drink a lot of this stuff. Southern Tier always seems to do the hoppy beers real well and this one is no exception.

Bottle. Pours a very light copper, yellowish color- certainly not the "deep ruby" noted in the description. Decent head. Nose is sharp and crisp, lots of light floral and some citrus notes. Flavor is mostly hops- heavy on the bitterness, but not at all abrasive. Heavy on the grapefruit and lemon, c-hop citric flavors. Good, though no especially exciting.
