Commercial Description:
Harvest Ale is our celebration of the changing weather and the sowing of hops and barley that will be used in our upcoming brews. We usher in the fall with a classic English style Extra Special Bitter of the highest order. Deep ruby in color with an even deeper hop flavor… in fact, we throw fresh English hops into every brewing vessel, then dry hop after fermentation to impart a zesty kick. This beer has real hop character that mingles with fresh malted barley for an experience that will make you wish it were fall year ‘round.

Crisp and refreshing. Surprised that I liked this. Piney scent, golden clear look, white head. The finish is dry but a tad odd....leaves a bad aftertaste???

Golden pour with hardly any white head very citrusy floral hop aroma not carbonated much taste of malt caramel and then straight citrus hop and a slight bitter finish very smooth transition from malt to hop and a great brew. Not deep ruby in color which is weird. Very drinkable!

Rich orange color and a big hoppy aroma. Almost herbal in that sense, sort of Marijuana-like even. Really nicely balanced taste pattern that is mostly bitter.

12oz bottle. Clear golden color with not much head. What a great smelling nose for an ESB. Cracker like malt with a delicious blast of peach hop resin. Thin body and carbonation is lacking...a bit on the flat side. Really kind of watery with a dusty dry bittering up front and then some sweet maltiness mid palate finishing up with some weird metallic bitterness. This has just a odd finish and rather unpleasant. I am trying, but I don’t think I will be finishing this one.

12oz. bottle. Massively hoppy aroma, fresh, leafy, piney, floral and citric, with a very light degree of malt sweetness present. Clear medium golden color with a very fine, slight head. Flavor profile is similarly hop-focused, with a large amount of American hop character throughout, bringing pine, spice, grapefruit and lemon rind, very bright and citrusy, the malts lightly sweet with very faint caramel and toast, and a generous amount of bitterness hitting up front, fading towards the finish. Crisp, lightly carbonated and resinous on the palate, body is medium. The six-pack holder proclaims "quadrupulus humulus lupulus", which is pretty accurate.

12 oz. bottle. Fresh green hops are right upfront as I pour. Golden ale color—all right, English bitter color—under a chunky big head. Now, I got this in July (loose bottle rack at Binny’s), so this must actually be LAST YEAR’s Harvest Ale. That’s why I miss the vegetal green hop of a fresher bottle. Still, there’s a good hop burn here you’d normally expect from a northwestern American hop bomb. Still brings in notes of citrus peel and myrtle Seems fine for its age otherwise, malts are tasty and stay back while hops do their thing. Loose bottle was 99¢.

Just so dam drinkable. Hazy yellow color from tap. The aroma does not give off the great taste. Perfect combination of hops and malt give it a grapefuit type bitterness with just a bit of that fresh from the fields buzz.

Bottle. This is one of the better ESB’s that I have had. Golden pour. Medium head. Floral and herbal hops on the nose to go along with apricot. Flavor is much the same. Juicy hops and malt combine to make a really nice beer. Good job ST.
