Commercial Description:
Harvest Ale is our celebration of the changing weather and the sowing of hops and barley that will be used in our upcoming brews. We usher in the fall with a classic English style Extra Special Bitter of the highest order. Deep ruby in color with an even deeper hop flavor… in fact, we throw fresh English hops into every brewing vessel, then dry hop after fermentation to impart a zesty kick. This beer has real hop character that mingles with fresh malted barley for an experience that will make you wish it were fall year ‘round.

Just so dam drinkable. Hazy yellow color from tap. The aroma does not give off the great taste. Perfect combination of hops and malt give it a grapefuit type bitterness with just a bit of that fresh from the fields buzz.

Bottle. This is one of the better ESB’s that I have had. Golden pour. Medium head. Floral and herbal hops on the nose to go along with apricot. Flavor is much the same. Juicy hops and malt combine to make a really nice beer. Good job ST.

Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle in a pub glass. The beer pours a light golden color, as opposed to the "deep ruby" that was advertised on the bottle. This isn’t the only odd item about this beer. The nose is very hoppy, resembling an IPA more than an ESB, and pretty much totally outside of the style. I am all for pushing style limits and being experimental, but this beer resembles a strong and too-hoppy American Pale Ale more than an English pale ale. The misrepresentation transfers to the palate, as the beer is bracingly bitter, far too much for what is supposed to be a subtle and restrained style. Additionally, this example doesn’t contain nearly the malt character that is needed for the style. Instead, there is a nice hop flavor in place of malt. The presence of some crystal malt would definitely serve to improve the beer though. Overall, this is a good beer, but it is outside of the style to a point that is a detriment.

Grapefruit dominates a big hoppy aroma, with some what smell like traditional english malts... Huge grapefruit hoppy flavor with subtle maltiness backing nicely, flavorful without being over the top... top notch beer...

Pours a clear light amber with a little yellowy head. Wasn’t expecting this to be have the hoppy nose or flavor I got from it, so it was a bit of a curve ball but still very nice. Not too hoppy to be considered an IPA, very drinkable, and very enjoyable. Malts are present in small amounts. Nice mouthfeel. Good beer from a good brewery.

12 oz bottle from EZ Liquors. Poured a clear thinner looking orange body sitting underneath a foamy bright white head. Aroma was fresh grass, citrus hops and sweet biscuit. Medium bodied with a good dose of carbonation and a very bitter finish. Flavor was lots of citrus, slightly sweet malts, a touch of orange marmelade. Very nice beer from Southern Tier but an ESB?? Not so sure about that.

Golden yellow with next to no head. Aroma of mild hops, sweet malt, citrus and mild sticky fruit. Taste of mild grassy and citrus hops, light fruit and grains with some light bitterness on the back end.

12 oz bottle. Pours a light golden orange with a small white froth. Aroma is a nice blend of citric fruitiness and a rich caramel malt. Nicely fresh hops with some tangerine and a bit of toastiness. Flavor is also nice and fresh hops, citric and refreshing. Becomes much sweeter towards the finish resulting in a balanced very hoppy bitter. Medium creamy body. Very tasty for a cold fall day, which it is now.
