| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2008 Pours golden with a very large head. Smell has plenty of spice, wheat, and fruit which is overpowering when this beer isn’t cold enough but improved once I got the bottle a bit colder and tried it again.
General flavor was strong banana but short on actual wheat flavor. Maybe I’ve just been spoiled with far stronger wheat tastes, but I expected more. I would serve this on the far colder side because the flavor it overpowering if it is not cold enough.
The colder this beer is the better the mouthfeel as well. Very thick when warmer but very smooth when it’s cold.
Overall, if you don’t want too much of a wheat flavor from your beer, this is a fantastic one to go with. Not at all a bad beer, but there are better in the category. travita (1920), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 26, 2008 22 ounce bottle. Pours a light hazy golden amber with a huge off white head. Bold banana clove nose. Light to medium bodied with a refreshing texture. Starts off with sweet wheaty malts and banana and quickly gets overpowered by cloves, yeast, mild herbal hops. Finish is overly peppery with detectable and warming alcohol, and has some belgian phenols (like most imperial weizens). A tad messy. Why is this a Wheat Ale while other similar beers are German Hefeweizens? This site needs a serious overhaul of the classification system Maverick34 (701), New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Draft. Poured almost a bronze and reminiscent of a Schneider Weisse. Real good. nuplastikk (1196), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 23, 2008 22oz bomber bottle. Thick, cloudy golden color. Pleasant aroma of banana and alcohol laced malt. A real merging of the banana hefe-yeast and deep, strong malt characteristics. Creamy and yeasty, with an aftertaste of sweet alcohol richness. I found the beer to be a little fresher tasting on draft, big surprise. An interesting beer but not quite world class territory. JasonG (700), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 23, 2008 22 oz bottle - pours slightly hazy yellow color with smallish pure white head. Aroma has honey, bananna, lime, apple, lichi, light caramel and clove. Flavor has honey, light malts, apple, bananna, coriander. Finish is mildly sweet. Overall pretty nice, although really this takes what should be a light, quaffable summer ale and turns it into a strong, almost sipping brew. jake65 (1725), Williston, North Dakota, USA

Aroma is citrus, wheat, and cloves. Flavor is more mellow with hints of bananas, citrus, wheat, spices, and light yeast. Smooth and creamy mouthful. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Aug 22, 2008 22 ounce bottle in weizen glass. Fairly cloudy orange with small flat head. Mild aroma of banana spice and fruity malt. Sweet honey vanilla with peach and banana mild spicy bitter finish and lingering banana and fruit. Medium-full body and low carbo. Very nice soft mouthfeel makes this one slightly better than expected and makes it taste professional. Not quite fresh, like nearly all the beers I’ve purchased at so-called beverage centers since I moved to Long Island.
