Commercial Description:
Heavy Weizen explores the inner depths of creativity and craftsmanship, taking a style of ale that is delicate and quaffable and shaping it into something exuberant and sturdy. The foundation of Heavy Weizen begins with prodigious quantities of North American malted barley and wheat. Next, the finest European hops are added to complement this ale's unique disposition by giving spicy aromas. Its spirit is forged during fermentation where our Bavarian weizen yeast consumes sugars and creates divine flavors reminiscent of bananas and cloves. Then, by aging this ale, we allow the divergent characteristics to blend together, becoming one. To capture Heavy Weizen's spirit, this wheat ale remains unfiltered to leave some of the yeast in the bottle. Serving this ale with a wedge of lemon is recommended, but optional. 18 plato, 38 IBUs, 2-row pale malt, malted white wheat, hallertau magnum, saaz.

Colour... cloudy-golden. Nose... malty, wheaty, banana taffy, and yeasty. Palate... ultra wheaty, sweet, malty, butyl esters, bitter and yet somewhat cloying. Quite quaffable for an 8% ABV!

A top 5 American Wheat Ale. 22oz bottle. Cloudy golden color. White head. Wonderful aroma of wheat malt and lots of banana. A hint of spicy hops as well. Nice aroma of earth. OH, Perfect flavors. Lots of bananas and other fruity esters. Lots of wheat malt, a very nice grain profile. Whole grain liquid bread. Finishes with a spicy hop and earthy bitterness. Lots of clove as well. Heavy bodied. Very thick and creamy textured. A bit higher in ABV than most other Wheat Ales. So much character in only a 22oz bottle.

Cloudy golden color with a dense head. Aroma has a lot of spice, wheat, banana, apple, clove. Flavor is smooth and thick with wheat malt, and fruit and spice kicked up a bit. Pretty good.

Pours a cloudy golden yellow color with some golden ripe banana yellow hues when held to a light source and a thick frothy two finger white head that slowly fades into a lasting ring leaving slight lacing. Yeasty/bread aroma with a lot of spicy clove notes, ripe banana and citrus peel. Also, there is a bit of crisp light fruit(apple, pear) and a nice hop presence. Extremely smooth and quaffable medium yeasty/bready body with a healthy dose of clove spiciness. Lots of ripe banana and citrus peel along with some light fruit notes, subtle hops and slightly sour dry finish.

Dark straw colored pour with a beautiful frothy head. Aroma holds vast amounts of wheat, banana, cinnamon, dough, and lots of yeast; really big and scrumptious aroma out of a lighter styled beer. Flavor is really full and delicious; lots of citrus, fruity esters, bread, and some definite hop bitterness, presumably from the Hallertau Magnums. I really like how full this is for a beer that is still so refreshing. Having hops hit at both the start and finish really gives this beer a complexity that most of its style can’t come close to boasting. Palate is very drinkable, but not thin, and the 8% is just slightly palpable at the finish. Really damn good beer.

Hazy golden pour with swirling yeast residuals, lively carbonation, and a robust two finger white froth. Aroma is banana, clove, dough, wheat malt, and toast. Yeast character produces a freshly baked bread note- like walking into the local bakery. Flavor is quite citrusy and loaded with tropical fruits. Alpha acid content is surprisingly high, but wholly welcomed. Alcohol tingle is on the edge of noticeable. Hop character is quite the force for the style, but is balanced out nicely by the light sugar profile. Palate is smooth, pillowy and extremely quaffable. Amazing brew of the style.

Pours a cloudyorange-gold with a big big weizen wipped eggwhite-like head. Aroma is yeast and spices. Sweet/sour taste of bread, yeast, pale malts and honey. Alcohol somewhat evident after the swallow. Very delicious and interesting take on the style.

22 oz. bottle - glowing gold w/ slight haze and thin white head to the edges; aromas first of honey, stale grains, a little coriander and spice; something a little off though that I can’t place; flavors are weighted with honey and wheat; medium body is syrupy sweet; pretty interesting beer overall with unique with the heavy wheat and almost maple syrup kind of flavor; never boring in the southern tier universe
