AndrewKScott (399), Lemont, Illinois, USA Jul 8, 2008 Woah, um, ok. The name of this weizen is very apropos. It is, in fact, heavy. It basically is like drinking a hefe on steroids: stronger, thicker, darker, and LOVES baseball.
GodOfThunder (27), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 7, 2008 Cloudy yellow with a nice head. A lot of nutmeg, clove and allspice type flavors. The taste is candy sweet with the wheat taking a back seat to the spices. There is a little alcohol kick. Nice beer. jefcon (848), Arlington, Virginia, USA Oct 3, 2008 A hazy yellow-gold beer with nice presence in the glass. Aromas balance the clove and ginger spices with a soft fruit. The power of this beer is apparent when you taste the flavors and how well they are punched-up by the alcohol. Mealy bananas and nicely bitter hops. This is a well-crafted beer with lots of character. Not too dry on the finish. dchmela (768), Orlando, Florida, USA Oct 3, 2008 Sample from bomber, courtesy GodofThunder. Cloudy light wheat color. Big spicy cloves, coriander and banana aroma. Smooth wheat and spice taste, very big. Southern Tier makes some big beers and this is a great example of what they do well. bconley (40), Fern Park, Florida, USA Oct 2, 2008 Very cool Champagne color. Very nice. Spicy. Allspice is present. Fruity. Very light. Hope to have again. Snojerk321 (1009), San Diego, California, USA Oct 2, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours a hazed, deep golden color with a faint orange tint. Tons of yeast, banana and citrus on the nose. Flavor was yeasty with some citrus and hop undertones. Finish was very clean and crisp, light/ medium body.
