Filtered to a golden clarity and dry-hopped to perfection, Hop Sun is a fantastic session ale in which flavors of wheat, barley and hops co-mingle to a refreshing and zesty conclusion. Aroma is a bit hoppy as expected with a little malt, beer is good but not great. Would probably not buy it again but did enjoy drinking them

Bottle. Pours a clear, bright golden yellow with a small bubbly head that has a slight bit of wispy retention and minimal lacing. Smell is of lemons, lots of lemons with sweet wheat and malt undertones. Taste is also a big lemony bitter kick up front with a very subtle malty wheat sweetness. Mouthfeel is super crisp and clean, light bodied. This is a great summer beer and very drinkable. Probably a little heavy on the lemon for my liking, but still a really good wheat beer.

Bottle. Pours beautiful clear yellow gold, with a healthy 2 finger white head. Aroma is citrusy hops, lemon, bit of orange, sweet. Taste is crisp wheat, light and zesty citrus hops that maintain presence but don’t dominate. Finish is a light bitterness, but clean, crisp. Mouthfeel is light, highly carbonated, fairly dry, moderately long finish.

Poured a straw yellow with medium but short lived head and very little retention. Smelled of lemon and sweet grain. Tastes of lemon and cereal with a light hoppy finish. A little bitter in the end, but a nice balanced feel. I could see myself drinking these all day long. Serving type: bottle

If you want a good summer beer, look no further than Hop Sun. This pours clear golden in color with a short lived head and no cloudiness. Aroma is terrific! Smells of cascade hops and a less pronounced bittering hops. Flavor starts off with a strong bitterness and then moves into a sweeter wheat beer taste mixed with an endnote of lemon. Bitterness lingers on the tongue for a bit. Lemon flavor is one of THE best I have tasted in a beer and reminds me of how a good lemon tea’s flavor remains on your lips and tongue after you sip it. I will definitely be making this one of my consistent pick ups at the local store.

Southern Tier is beginning to look to me like one of New York State’s best breweries. This was part of a sampler pack from them. Bold, simple label on the 12 ounce bottle, served cold like a summer beer should be. It pours gold with a modest head. The aroma is hops and citrus, with a little malt - and there could be a touch of phenol or petrol in there too, unfortunately. This is a hopped-up wheat, which is an unexpected flavor combo - almost like a cross between an IPA and a wheat. It has a medium-light body and a touch of citrus, but it is not wimpy. Aftertaste is mild and tingley. The hops are front and center, which makes for an unusually peppy summer ale.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma is hoppy and slightly herbal. Poured dark yellow in color with a medium-sized white head that diminished quickly. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is light to medium bitter. Tastes of hops, lemon, citrus, sugar, and grass. Light to medium body. Thinish, slightly sticky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, lemony, hop finish.
