WENT TO THE COLLINS BAR NYC. THE DAY BEFORE IT CLOSED. WAS GIVEN A GOLDEN BREW THAT WAS HOPPY A BIT SHARP RESINY AND JUST GREAT! THEY SAID IT WAS HOP SUN. I HAD ANOTHER AND THIS HAD TO BE AN IPA. THEY INSISTED, SO HERE ARE MY THOUGHTS. THIS WOULD BE MY FAVORITE WHEAT BEER -BUT I GOT A FEELING I MAY HAVE BEEN DECEIVED. REFRESHING CRISP AND REALLY GOOD CARBONATION. BITTER BUT EASY FINISH. NICE

12 oz. bottle picked up at New Beer Distributors in NYC. I was looking forward to this one, hoping it would be good competition to FFF Gumballhead. I guess it wasn’t meant to be. Golden yellow pour with a smallish white head. Faint citrus aroma, no hops or wheat/yeast/esters detected though. Lemony citrus was the main flavor I picked up and a decent dose of grassy hops in the finish. No esters though which I expect a wheat beer to have. Refreshing summer beer - I was just hoping for a little more than what I got.

Poured from the bottle a hazy golden color with thin soapy head. Aroma of citrus, hops and grains. Quite a different wheat beer with the flavor and texture of a wheat, but with a hop bitterness and a citrus tang. Very refreshing, good for a day at the beach.

12oz bottle. Poured a medium and slightly hazy golden color with a huge sized head. Aromas of citrus (lemons) and wheat. Tastes of lemon pledge, wheat, and some sweet maltiness.

Orange honey pour with a fantastically sticky head. The hops in the nose a upfront and juicy. Lots of orange citrus and lemon juice along with a little grassiness. A mild caramel sweetness lies beneath. The body offers a moderate dose of wheat, before hitting you with a splash of grapefruit hoppiness. Light and refreshing, this would be a great summer session on the lake.

12oz bottle-pours a big foamy white head and yellow color. Aroma is bold citrus-sweet grapefruit/lemon/mango. Taste is sweet grapefruit/lemon/mango, secondary/faint wheat. Nice light taste. Mild carbonation.

12 oz. bottle. on 07/02/07. Long lasting white head on a clear gold pour. Very hoppy aroma, more so than almost any other wheat that I have had. Light body and a nice clean palate with lively effervescence combine for a nicley thirst quenching character. Light honey sweetness that is all but unnoticeable in the face of a very long and dry finish. This is an unusual American Wheat, but I found it quite enjoyable.

Wow, an American Wheat with some aggressive characteristics! Pale golden color with a blanket of white lacing around the glass and a thin head. Hop aroma with a lot of citrus, some grassy scents as well. Medium bodied, exceptionally clean and quenching. Good bitterness makes you pucker a bit and say ahhh. This is a great American Wheat, lots of nice hop flavors along with a solid malt and wheat presence. Bitter and a little nutty with a noticeable dose of lemon and a splash of grapefruit. This has renewed my interest in the style, thanks Hop Sun.
