| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 2/5 | 10/10 | 3/5 | 20/20 | Sep 10, 2009 Sublime thistle, rose hip, and caramel nose. Clear amber, headless. Flavor is of rose hips suspended in honey with hints of dandelion. Decidedly more bitter flavor of lemon zest in the finish. Near perfect. Southern Tier hits another home run; I’m not even surprised anymore. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 8, 2004 Without a doubt this is the best American Wheat I have ever had. Mine seemed to have some bottle-conditioning, little flecks of yeast or hop - with incredibly fresh nose of wheat malt and subtle spicy hops. Absolutely delicious. Far far better than Oberon and Gumballhead and other contenders in terms of freshness and lightness of body - but doesn’t skimp on flavor - lemony and tart but not acrid. fbennett (293), Lowell, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 12, 2006 Poured a golden raisin blonde color that leaves a thin white lace that disappears quickly. The aroma is citrus, hops, wheat, honey, musty grass dew. Very nice aroma different than your typical American wheat due to the big presence of hops. The taste mirrors the nose starting with a wheat twang, followed by a lemon citrus tartness backed by a hoppy bitterness I normally don’t find in an American wheat beer but a pleasant surprise. This is good and different the finish is malty with again a sweetness of honey, that is backed up by a bitter bite that makes you want another sip.

Not a damn thing wrong with a hoppy American Wheat beer. Filtered light gold color with a nice floral aroma. Crisp, hoppy and delicious. fredandboboflo (1431), East Setauket, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 19, 2009 Bottle. Smelled it (awesome), tasted it (still awesome), took a few sips (same), then came here and read the commercial description. And I was quite impressed that they really have it right on, from how the beer comes together to how it plays out. Where the barley ends, the wheaty malt presence begins, and where its citrusy feel ends, a great deal of tropical hops begin. Seamless through and through, great blend of all the components. Superbly drinkable, strong medium body, the filtering doesn’t seem to affect the mouthfeel, and what’s lost from a more typical unfiltered wheat is more than admirably replaced by the hopping. Great stuff, I’m a bit shocked by the lowish ratings, but I guess 95.8 in style isn’t terrible. jah noth (1020), Rochester, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 13, 2004 Very hoppy nose, smells of grass and pine. Golden lager like color, with some bubbles. Nice rocky head and plenty of lacing. Light bodied with a wallop lemon citrus. Definate undercurrent of wheat flavor. This is another fine brew from Southern Tier - no lemon needed in this product.
