Commercial Description:
We craft this much like a sculptor who uses only a hammer and chisel to shape stone into a masterpiece. Hoppe is spawned of these few essentials: barley, wheat, hops, yeast and water. This limited palette is an exercise in minimalism, with refined elements which are deliberately selected. This simple combination creates a golden shimmering brew infused with delicate aromas. The artful nature of this beer is exposed with the first taste. As the malt and hops created a composition of flavors, and elegant finish leaves an impression that your tastes will not soon forget. Don't be deceived by th innocence of Hoppe. Please enjoy in moderation.

Hops for the sake of hops, no complaints. I had a bomber at Volo, then went back the next day for another. Poured orange with a small white head. Smelled of citrus and pine hops. I called Mondy, tried to sneak one home for him. Hey Mondy, have you had this yet? It finished bitter, but the kind of bitter I love.

Bottle: Poured a light hazy golden color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of bitter and floral hops are very pleasant. Taste is a mix between some floral bitter hops and light refreshing malt base with minimal caramel malt and more of a golden ale base. Good carbonation with full body and no apparent alcohol. Very well done and I have to admit that I could not detect the 10% of alcohol in this beer and thought it was very good for the style.

Bottle: pours a cloudy, light orangish color with very little head, aroma is sweet and dark fruits, taste has a touch of hops, dark fruits, slight sweetness, just a bit of bitterness in the finish.

22oz bottle. Pours a golden/yellow color with a lovely white head and lingers and laces nicely. The nose is HUGE! Mainly citrus and pine. The flavor is sweet and citrusy and has a very nice malty backbone to support the bitterness. The consistency is almost like syrup. It feels a little thick in on the palate, but not enough to fault the beer. Very easy, fun drinker. Very nice beer. I’ll have one more please!

I don’t get the "American Strong Ale" description. This is a straight up IPA. Nice and hopppy. Clean taste. But not a strong ale which has that intense matly taste.

Bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville. Pours a light amber with a medium frothy head with good retention and lacing. Big earthy, piny hop aroma. Sweet citrus and floral hop notes with a definite note of Southern style sweetened iced tea. Strange, but very tasty.

Clear yellow. Hoppy, grassy and dull. I wasn’t quite sure what category this was in; it seemed like an IPA by a clever name. I have a co-worker whose last name is Hoppe--I wonder if he knows of this beer.

big yeasty aroma, malty and flat bread ... I was expecting hops ... hops in the taste with some biscuits and fish ... malty with a nice hop balance ... yes fish, but not in a bad way ... aftertaste is where the bitter comes in ... lightly salty/earthy is in there too ... thats what I get ... site says 10%, bottle says 8% ... this is gonna screw up may coherent planning for the night ... This beer is very enjoyable and IMO there is a lot going on ... thumbs up
