Commercial Description:
We craft this much like a sculptor who uses only a hammer and chisel to shape stone into a masterpiece. Hoppe is spawned of these few essentials: barley, wheat, hops, yeast and water. This limited palette is an exercise in minimalism, with refined elements which are deliberately selected. This simple combination creates a golden shimmering brew infused with delicate aromas. The artful nature of this beer is exposed with the first taste. As the malt and hops created a composition of flavors, and elegant finish leaves an impression that your tastes will not soon forget. Don't be deceived by th innocence of Hoppe. Please enjoy in moderation.

Tasted at Sean and Ryan’s party. Yellow amber color. Sweet malty. Mellow hop taste, but nice hop aroma. Delicious. Another Southern Tier winner.

Tap at Capital Ale House 05/13/08. Clear dark golden with large frothy head that stuck around. Big floral/citrusy hop aroma. Pronounced citrusy and fruity hop flavors over a light pilsner or other malt backbone with some fruity yeast character. Fairly full mouthfeel with some residual hop bitterness in the finish and some alchohol warming. Nicely balanced Hoppe beer.

An light orange colored beer with a nice white head. Great hop taste with a citrus blend First couple of sips you can tell it’s a 9% beer. After that you get used to it. I had the 22oz. bottle.

Pours golden orange with a fine white froth that forms craters. Spiced citrus aroma with some pineapple. Light sweet airy fruity flavor, the wheat really mellows it out. Decent amount of bitterness in the finish. Some alcohol and resin as well. A really unique flavor. Excellent fluffy finely smooth carbonated body. A nice beer with however the flavor is not nearly as enticing as it is interesting.

22 oz bottle: The honey red beer pours crystal clear into the glass and a thick, lace-inducing, head forms two fingers high on top. Hops hit me as I pour this thing - lookout. The nose is just fantastic - the hops are so fresh, defined and bright. Sweet orange, pink grapefruit, rose petals, rindy lemon and on and on. The aroma notes match the flavor hops in the body. More clean, fresh hops take over the tongue. This drinks insanely good for a 10% beer. Wow - this is a hop bomb but good God it is nice to have one now and again. Some caramel and honeyed malt notes do creep out as the beer comes to room temp, achieving a perfect balance. Wow - this is just really nice. I don’t know what else to say - fresh and drinkable. Yum.

Pour is a dull gold with a very large white head. Aroma is a decent amount of pine hops with a candy sweetness. Flavor is mild hops with a caramel malt backbone and a touch of honey. Super thick mouthfeel for such a pale colored beer. This is just ok not great and probably the lowest rated of the ST beers i have had as this is pretty tame all around. Reminds me of a malt liquor with some extra hops thrown in there.

Gold color with a thin head. Lots of citrus and pine aroma. Strong bitter flavor, but it doesn’t scream citrus or pine. Just a little pine on the end. Very vegetal hop taste.
