Commercial Description:
We craft this much like a sculptor who uses only a hammer and chisel to shape stone into a masterpiece. Hoppe is spawned of these few essentials: barley, wheat, hops, yeast and water. This limited palette is an exercise in minimalism, with refined elements which are deliberately selected. This simple combination creates a golden shimmering brew infused with delicate aromas. The artful nature of this beer is exposed with the first taste. As the malt and hops created a composition of flavors, and elegant finish leaves an impression that your tastes will not soon forget. Don't be deceived by th innocence of Hoppe. Please enjoy in moderation.

fresh hoppy floral aroma. Rich deep golden and dense off white head. Smooth hop malt balance with slight creamy and floral flavors. nice carbonation level. finishes slightly sweet somewhere between wet and dry with reasonable bitterness.

Poured from a 22oz bottle and served in a shaker. This beer poured a slightly hazy golden amber with a very thin, off-white head. Decent retention. Solid lace encompassed the entire glass. The aroma included fragrent floral hops, grapefruit, and butterscotch. The flavor consisted of bitter pine, butterscotch, and a hint of wheat. The mouthfeel was full-bodied and resiny with ample carbonation. Not a bad beer, but not all that interesting either. The wheat put up a good fight in the beginning, but the alcohol took over by the end of the glass.

650 ml bomber, shared with StompBrockmore - pours very slightly cloudy apricot with a small head. Big fruity and grassy aroma, but not that big - I was expecting a bit more ooomph. Interesting hop combination, though - don;t think I’ve tasted or smelled either of these before (at least that I know about). Flavour similar to a dIPA with that sweet/alcoholic/fruity combo ever-present. The malt is in good proportion to the hops. The entire thing is smooth, creamy, and not hugely complex, but nicely put together. Good beer, but not one that stands out in the hop-crazy American brewing landscape.

Taste is bitter and sweet nice citrus-lemon (Amarillo) and some Columbus hops, some light/medium malt. OK carbonation. Interesting. 080401-rerate-22oz bottle Thanks to jwc215(BA) for sharing.

Bottle at "Wining & Dining Tasting". Clear yellow - white head. High hoppy, caramel, high bitterness, very american cactus, resin, dryness, tonic water.

650ml bomber, shared with VeloVampire - pours slight hazy gold with a smallish white head. Tonnes of grapefruit and citrus in the aroma, you could even smell is from a distance. Very robust and sweet. Flavour is very strong, incredibly similar to a dIPA...in fact, I don’t really understand exactly what differentiates this from a dIPA, but whatever. Lots of hops, though flavour is less sweetly citrusy than the aroma would lead you believe and instead has an earthier, piney hoppiness. Bitterness upfront with the alcohol extremely well hidden. A mild caramel-like malt base can be detected underneath all the hopping. Not terribly interesting, very similar to many other hop-crazy, big American beers, but good.

Pours a clear gold with a nice crème head. Nose is that syrupy sticky pine sweet tone. Flavor is that double IPA goodness. Hoppy and thick with that pine character to it. This is a traditional, if there is such a thing, DIPA. Hearty and robust with a consistently full flavor. If you want a great example of this style, then this is it. No need to look further. Feel has that thick and slick and somewhat sticky liquid feel. Decent level of carbonation. This gives it how you want to see it. A must try. Stellar.
