Commercial Description:
We craft this much like a sculptor who uses only a hammer and chisel to shape stone into a masterpiece. Hoppe is spawned of these few essentials: barley, wheat, hops, yeast and water. This limited palette is an exercise in minimalism, with refined elements which are deliberately selected. This simple combination creates a golden shimmering brew infused with delicate aromas. The artful nature of this beer is exposed with the first taste. As the malt and hops created a composition of flavors, and elegant finish leaves an impression that your tastes will not soon forget. Don't be deceived by th innocence of Hoppe. Please enjoy in moderation.

From Libations. Slightly hazy dark gold underneath a thin yet creamy ivory head. Hop aroma was VERY strong, especially as I was drinking outside, downwind of my beerglass. What a great taste; lots of hops here, yet it sweetened at the finish.

(Bottle) Pours clear deep golden with an off-white head. The aroma is hoppy up front with notes of, earth, peppery spices, weed, oranges, pineapples, flowers, tea, light pine/resin and lychee. Plastic undertones alongside tiny hints of compost earth. Light sweet and sticky almond cookie-like malt. Touch of tart-ish wheat. The nose holds too much Columbus and sticky/tart malt for my liking. Hints of ripe mango. The flavour is light to medium sweet, medium to heavily bitter and light acidic. Tones of earth, pine, orange, grapefruit, mango, peach, perfume, toast and cookie. The finish is sticky, grassy, resiny and black tea-like with a clear alcohol sting. The mouthfeel is round and light sticky with a light to ´medium carbonation. Lingering afterbitterness. Medium to full bodied. Maybe not a super fresh bottle but I don’t like the malt and hop balance in this one.

From a bottle poured a copper color with a very small head. Sweet malty flavor with a lingering biter finish.

Nice orange pour with thick white foam. Spicey citrus notes. A good full taste with a nice bitter taste. I like it.

Imperial americal ale loaded with hops but without the edgy Indian nip at the end of the sip. Also a bit of the earthy and peppery notes I’ve enjoyed in other southern tier offerings.

Bottle courtesy of drowland. Clear orange pour. Lots of pleasant hops on the nose. Also some musty hops. Nice smooth taste. Some dryness on the finish too. Tasty.

22oz bottle 9/3/09 (Binny’s Naperville)-Pours a hzy amber orangish body with a small whtie head. Aroma of hops, citrus, grapefruit, and slight malt. Taste of hte same with a bit of citrus, spices, grass, and a little funk. This medium bodied brew is not bad but a little different. It is unique.
