| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 25, 2009 Pours a deep caramel brown, approaching black under a short, tannish head which settles quick to soap suds. Big citrus hop aroma, fruity and sweet, tangerine, Juicy Fruit and Lemondrops. Mild herbal/grassy notes follow, but the citrics are hard to drown out. There is an untamed sugary sweetness to start the flavor, which further shows a bittersweet fruitiness (more citric sweetness along with pulp and rind), bitter, rye-like malts, a latent roastiness and a drop of soy sauce. Low syrup on the tongue, finishing dry. It’s never a good sign when you use the word "interesting" to describe something, but I’ll use it here. Good attempt, but I wasn’t sold on the flavor which was far too disparate from nose to mouth. ~~~~~~~~~~ 22 oz. bomber from Kenwood Liquors, Oak Lawn, IL

Poured clear black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate toasted malt and earthy aroma. Medium to full smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy toastedvbiitersweet flavor to medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
My expectations where met with a good complex beer.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 18, 2009 Bottle. Pitch black pour, minimal carbonation and a great chocolate and espresso aroma. Flavor was also strong bitter chocolate, smoky peat and a little vanilla and strong (but balanced) booze on the finish. Pretty good! wavers1 (175), novato, California, USA

Served from a 22 oz bottle shared by Andy. Appearance is a deep red that pushes just shy of black. The aromas and flavors are mild with some milky cinnamon and a bit of caramel. Not a fan of this guy.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were and left behind a transparent softly carbonated dark ruby red brown colored body and a thick foamy lacing. The mild aroma was dark malt. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The nice flavor contained notes of mild hops and dark malt. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. awiseman01 (379), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA

Pours black with slightly brown edge and bubbly white head. Has a hoppy sweet toffee nose (deceptively). Big bitter, dry earthy hop taste. Dark burnt malts, but definitely not a good bitter. A little dissapointed on this one...poor sour finish. I will stick to their Stellar Stouts. TheCaptain (559), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA

Simmered dark amber brown pour with little to no head. Prune, plum on the nose. Malts with a cola like texture. Slight soy with a fruit like(pineapple) muddled citrus. Salty towards the end and the ABV well hid.
