Pours black with slightly brown edge and bubbly white head. Has a hoppy sweet toffee nose (deceptively). Big bitter, dry earthy hop taste. Dark burnt malts, but definitely not a good bitter. A little dissapointed on this one...poor sour finish. I will stick to their Stellar Stouts. TheCaptain (559), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA

Simmered dark amber brown pour with little to no head. Prune, plum on the nose. Malts with a cola like texture. Slight soy with a fruit like(pineapple) muddled citrus. Salty towards the end and the ABV well hid. LooseCannon (936), Norfolk, Virginia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 5, 2009 Bomber. Dark beer with great head. Drank at ~50 degrees rather than the recommended 40-45, which would probably subdue the hops a bit. Lots of hop bitterness and citrus on top of a malt body that includes some cocoa (de-bittered black) and is quite smooth. Blindfolded, I don’t know if I’d guess his were black, but I’d know it wasn’t pale. afireinside96 (842), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA

Pours a dark reddish brown color with a medium sized beige head. The nose had notes of citrus, toast, caramel, and pine. Tastes of toast, pineapple, and grapefruit zest. Not nearly as sweet as ST’s other big IPAs making it much more pleasing to my palate. AmEricanbrew (2005), Almost, Texas, USA
