Jul 16, 2009 12 oz. bottle from Ludlow Wines. Pours a clean copper with a frothy off white head that doesn’t stick around long on the beer but lasts on the walls of the glass. Nice aroma of hops, fruit, and spices. Flavor is sweet and bitter with a good punch of hops and a slight soapiness. Dry finish and pleasant aftertaste. Very straightforward, solid IPA.

Jul 16, 2009 12oz bottle from total wine in norfolk. pours a clear, orange gold with a thin, bubbly, off white head and light lacing. aroma is pleasant with floral and citrus hops, a touch of pine, and slightly sweet notes of apple and caramel malt. flavor is a bit disppointing, but it’s possible this is an off bottle. the hops are non-existent and i get mostly dry, burnt malts, a bit of toffee, and dry cider. palate is light bodied with medium carbonation and a dry, bitter finish. overall, a weak offering from a great brewery. will re-rate down the road because i suspect this is a bad bottle.

Jul 14, 2009 It is orange-golden with a creamy head. The aroma has notes of fruit, spruce and malt. The flavour has a light sweetness and notes of caramel, citrus/oranges, other fruits, light soap and dust and the finish has some grapefruit and it’s dry and bitter. Somehow this is not what I expected from this brewer, perhaps I should re-rate it some day, since it’s not as fruity/refreshing as I hoped for...

Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to heavy hoppy, perfume, pine, orange, light to moderate yeasty, soap. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090412]
