Commercial Description:
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

I think the rating is a little off...92? I’ve had plenty of IPAs that smoke this one. That being said, it is good, but a little coarse. The initial shock of mediocre hops and metal really turned me off of this beer.

An east coast brewery with a west coast style ipa. Tons of floral hops in the aroma and sticky hop and citrus flavor. A little light on the malt profile, but good.

A little weak as an IPA, but nonetheless with a decently fruity nose, and with a good amount of bitterness. A solid brew, easy to drink.

12 oz bottle, pours a frosty deep amber color, little head. Aroma is very fresh and floral, even moreso than most other IPAs, with a little citrus sweetness. Taste was spicy and a little bitter and very full. Palate, like most other Southern Tier brews, is very smooth and never harsh, even with the high hop content of the beer. Excellent beer.

Bottle. Clear golden with a medium white head. Light citric aroma with fruity notes. Peach, grape and caramel. Medium bodied light to medium corbonation. Lovely hoppy and fruity flavour with pine and ciitric notes. Fair.

An average, clear copper color on the pour with a white head and above average sticky lacing. The aroma was lemony fresh initially and then became well balanced between pine and citrus hops, light spice and softer caramel. The flavor also showed nice balance. Sweet malts gave way to bitter pine hops. Thin body, dry with a succinct finish. Overall a well balanced, enjoyable example.

Burnt orange color and a tan off white head with average lacing. Aroma of citrus hops and dark biscuity malt, and a bit of caramel. Flavor has grapefruit hoppiness balanced with caramel malt, but a little light on both counts. This beer has potential but comes up a bit small on overall personality.
