Commercial Description:
IPA stands for India Pale Ale and ours is an American version of the classic style. IPA’s namesake lies in its colonial roots. British soldiers on their way to India dark a lot of beer, but found it would go stale on the long voyages. Meanwhile, brewers knew that by adding more hops, the beer would stay fresh. Voila! A new style was born and it is one we are proud to brew. Southern Tier IPA is a triple-hopped on its journey to your glass for a fully aromatic experience.

At Rhino. Deep honey gold with some haze. Bright tropical fruit hops. A happy hoppy nose with mango, papaya, and pineapple. Soft carbonation. Slight chewiness. The flavor of the hops are earthier than the nose tells. Lots of pine. Solid malt backbone asserts itself very well. Slightly roasty, even. Nice.

Poured an amber color with an off white head. Aroma was of a good amount of citreusy hops and some nice sweet notes as well. Flavor was averagely hopped, not overly bitter, but enough to make it a good ipa

Hoppy nose, good hoppiness up front with a balanced finish... This is not an aggressive IPA, not excessively hoppy, doesnt finish excessively malty, it’s a good ipa that doesnt feel the need to push any boundries...

Pours orange with a white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, and some yeast. Taste is very hoppy, without being too bitter. Nice flavor backed very well by the malts. Good carbonation make this beer easy to drink. Nothing overly amazing, but damned tasty.

Bottle. Pours a clear golden orange with a fizzy head. Aroma of citrusy hops, with earthy/grassy notes. The flavor is nicely hoppy; bitter, with citrus and pine notes. A bit of a soapy aftertaste, but not too bad. A solid IPA.

Bottled, This was a pretty good beer. Nice amber pour with grassy notes and citrus undertones. A piney bitter taste that is blended well with caramel malts. It’ good.

12oz bottle from Badbeer. Pours hazy amber with a moderate size white head, spider web lace. Smells earthy and resiny hoppy, lemony citrus with a hint of some sweet malts. Tastes resiny and lemony hoppy, very tasty with some lingering, sweet malt flavors. Medium body, good carbonation.
