| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 2, 2009 Snifter at Bottleworks - congrats to the guys for the successful installation of a few taps at what has got to be one of the country’s best bottle shops! Poured black, with a good-sized tan head. Tons of oak in the aroma - this one’s got a lot of wood in it. The coffee component is mild, but certainly present - one of my favorite things about the brew is the definite presence of roasty coffee without that note drowning out everything else I like about an impy stout - notes of dark chocolate and molasses. Slightly tart with the coffee and all the oak, and nice and thick, but well carbonated. Only slightly boozy, considering the 12%! Avengedpoet (325), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Aroma is deep chocolate, coffee, and roast malts. A taste to match. Sex in a glass. bb (2919), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2009 Bottle. Very dark brown with a thin tan head. Roasty, coffee aroma with some chocolate and a bit of caramel. Rich malt flavor with coffee and dark chocolate. Fuller silky body. Coffee and roast lingers with some chocolate and some hops. Alcohol nitceable, but in balance. Some complexity, but it doesn’t completely win me over. markwise (1186), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2009 Thanks Gillard for the share. Pours dark brown with an off-white head. Nose is roast, coffee, and compared to other ST beers, this one is very... normal. There are elements of roast, and a great mouthfeel, but that is about it. Nice coffee lingering around in the finish, but it is not Creme Brulee... Bukowski9 (89), Piqua, Ohio, USA

I figured this would be thicker in body since I’ve had the Oat and Choklat now, but it’s fairly tame. Still coating and sticky in the mouth. Lots of dark roast, balanced coffee, something i’m not used to with southern tier. balance.
