10oz draft at barley’s in greenville. pours an extremely dark brown, but not quite black, with a long lasting cinnamon brown head. aroma was outstanding with big roast coffee, chocolate, earth, and roasty/nutty malt. flavor was delicious. huge rich coffee, bitter chocolate, pistachio, and a slight hoppy/dark fruit presence adding balance. palate was smooth, slightly thick and oily, with low carbonation and a long, bitter coffee finish. this beer really reaches it peak about half way through the glass as it warms. overall, great coffee stout.

Thanks to whoever graciously shared this at the beerinator tasting! Viscous dark pour, tan head and spotty lace. Mild espresso nose. Oily mouth-feel. Rich malty flavor coffee was slightly subdued. I would like to try this again when its a little more fresh

Pour is a dark black with no head at all. Aroma is a deep intense dark chocolate with a moderate coffee in there. Flavor is again a super nice chocolate with some coffee ,the coffee aspect is lower than i though it would be but it is still there to give this some bitterness after the sweetness of the chcoclate. Finish has some alcohol burn with a nice creamy slik left on the tounge. Not something your going to want everyday but it is quite good.

Pour is black with a light tan head. Fantastic aromas of bitter chocolate, roasted malt and dark coffee. Flavor is mostly the same with some good dark fruit notes and mild licorice as well. Rather oily creamy mouthfeel.......very rich. Being a huge fan of stouts made with coffee, this ranks very high for me.

pours deep black with bubbly tan head. nose is roasted malt and dark chocolate, coffee is only mildly noticeable. palate is faily heavy and oily. taste is carmel, roast, sweet fig and black strap molasses, bitter chocolate and then coffee, which is almost hidden. Despite the subtle coffee flavor, this is an excellent brew. you will be fooled by the 11% alcohol.

22 oz. Pitch with a small ring of foam. Aromas of espresso, cream and vanilla. Flavors of espresso, caramel, cream, cocoa liqueur, oats. A bit harsh with coffee and alcohol on the finish, but still a good brew. Medium-heavy body is acidic-tingly, slighty watery but still somehow sticky on the finish. Mostly smooth carbonation with some small flareups.

Bottle, shared. Pours a deep black with a frothy, tan head. Aroma is led by chocolate with roasted coffee notes and dark fruit/espresso as well. Taste is espresso up front, with chocolate, roasted malt, dark fruit, and a slight hop bitterness complementing the coffee at the end. It’s silky smooth throughout, and despite not being a coffee drinker I could drink this coffee stout all the time. (Note: This was the 2007 vintage, so I suspect it calmed down a bit since it was in my cellar)
