| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 26, 2009 Pours a nearly black brown with a thin tan head. Aroma is very much of roasty coffee with some vanilla in there. Flavor is mostly dark rich coffee, roasty burnt notes, with some chocolate, vanilla, and brown sugar. Full bodied, a bit sticky, and too rich for me to drink in large quantity. One of the more complex tasting stouts I’ve had, and quite delicious. As with other stouts from Southern Tier, it is exceptional for pouring over ice cream. AndyReynolds (281), Wilder, Kentucky, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2009 Bottle. Pours a brownish black with no head. Aroma is roasted malts and coffee. Notes of dark chocolate, vanilla, caramel, and a little bit of floral hops come out. On the palate, it is chewy and thick. THe flavor is coffee, but it pulls out a little of the dark chocolate as well in the finish. A grerat beer. I was pretty impressed. altonbrownd (1913), Amsterdam, Netherlands

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 18, 2009 Pours an opaque black with a thick, tan, creamy head that dissapates rather quickly. The body is huge, creamy and the flavor is extremely complex. Oily, roasty, bitter, malty with big time coffee throughout. Although Jamaican Blue Mountain is overrated as far as coffees go, it is still tasty and it really adds to this stout. This is one fantastic stout. yobdoog (1436), Woodridge NY, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 18, 2009 Bottle and draft. Very dark thick pour with an off white head. Aroma is very rich, creamy coffee and espresso, almost dark chocolate like. Lots of sweetness like a latte. Flavor is so big. The creamiest riches smoothest coffee. Some alcohol but hidden really well. Like coffee cake and frosting. DiabolikDUB (143), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 17, 2009 Poured from Bottle into Tulip glass.
Pours a smooth black with some red-toned edging with a quick dissolving brown head that leaves a thin ring around the glass. The aroma is chocolate dominated with coffee some toffee and burnt sugar. The flavor is sweet with more chocolate than coffee roastiness and finishes with a coffee bitterness and slight alcohol burn. Its a velvety full-bodied beer. This isn’t necessarily a bad beer but it seems very sweet and I would like a little more carbonation. SSSteve (2071), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
