Commercial Description:
Three thousand feet above sea level in the misty mountains of Jamaica, some of the worlds finest Arabica beans are hand picked on their way to becoming Blue Mountain Coffee. Halfway around the world, plump spring barley grows to maturity in the loamy soil of North America while aromatic hops are cutivated to exacting standards. Here in our kettles, these three special ingredients are blended to create a heady mixture of sweet sugar, dark roast, and complex flavor. Please enjoy this brew in moderation.

Sampled at Bruegala 2009. Black with red tints. Small, off-white head is mostly lasting. Heavy chocolate milk nose with a mild coffee roast and sweet brown sugar. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter flavor with some burnt brownies/coffee underneath really hot alcohol. Soft carbonation over the top of a rather medium bodied imperial stout. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed.

Bruegala 2009 sampling - Pours a dark brown/black color with some ruby hints under a small tan head. Aroma is mostly molasses, caramel, chocolate and a light coffee note with some sweet brown sugar notes. Flavor is pretty hot with LOTS of bitter coffee flavor and quite a bit of acidity to it as well. Modest body with an oily texture and average carbonation. Overall I thought it was a bit too much coffee flavor for my tastes and there just wasn’t enough other flavors to counter the overly pungent coffee note.

Black color, tan head. Sweet, malty, chocolate smooth almost mellow scent. Smooth, sweet, roasted (a bit), some coffee taste. Smooth chocolate aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel, low to medium low bitterness.

1pt 6oz bottle. Pours thick dark brown with very little head. Smells of creamy coffee and dark fruit. Tastes of dark coffee with creamer, roasted malt, milk chocolate, and alcohol. Nice and sweet up front and gets slightly bitter in the finish. Pretty good beer, but for the price, Rogue’s Chocolate Stout is way better and half the price.

Bomber. Pours deep black, very nice tan head. Good lacing. Lots of coffee, chocolate, toasted malt. Alcohol is well hidden for 11%. A very enjoyable IMP Stout.

2008 bomber... pours a nice black with a smooth quarter inch tan head... which eventually falls to a thin lacing... some big coffee notes as well as a touch of chocolate and sweet roasted malts on the nose... big mouthfeel with roasted malt, oats and dark coffee up front... developing into a robust stout filled with licorice and sweet candi sugar on the finish.... the 12% is well hidden... full bodied, well balanced and extremely delicious. top notch coffee imp stout...

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Small brown fluffy head. Sweetness, chocolate, coffee, roast and brown sugar in the aroma. Flavour of roast, brown sugar, syrup, chocolate/caramel. coffee and liqourice. Is quite creamy. Quite thin bodied. ends on a chocolaty and roasty sweet bitterness. Quite nice.

Pours a dark nearly black brown with the briefest of brown heads. Rich, chocolaty aroma, molasses - yum! Chocolate & molasses plus plenty of light coffee - milky mocha, not at all acidic espresso. Unrefined sugar, too. Tasty, tasty tasty! Minimal carbonation, medium body. Sweet and delicious, a dessert of a beer!
