Commercial Description:
Three thousand feet above sea level in the misty mountains of Jamaica, some of the worlds finest Arabica beans are hand picked on their way to becoming Blue Mountain Coffee. Halfway around the world, plump spring barley grows to maturity in the loamy soil of North America while aromatic hops are cutivated to exacting standards. Here in our kettles, these three special ingredients are blended to create a heady mixture of sweet sugar, dark roast, and complex flavor. Please enjoy this brew in moderation.

Pours a rich, thick black with a smooth, coffee-cream hued head forming at the top. The aroma is all malt as one would expect from an Imperial Stout or a Doppelbock. The flavour has a bit of coffee bitterness followed by chocolate and the burn of alcohol.

Pours a deep brown with a nice tan head. Rich and delicious, with dark coffee, sugar, and a strong stout underneath. Aroma is beautifully complex, and the taste is almost perfect, and very smooth and drinkable. A thumbs way up on this one.

Side by side southern tier blind tasting with Choklat, Mokah, and Jahva. Solid black, big frothy tan head. Aroma- dark chocolate, roast, cream, spice, alcohol. Taste- mild coffee, thick milk chocolate sweetness. Semi-sweet oaty finish with alcohol and white pepper spiciness. Thin body with a creamy sweetness.

Bottle - Pours black with a bit tan head. Smell is sweet, with bourbon, raisins, whiskey, toffee, teriyaki, and black licorice. Taste is dark malt, soy sauce, bourbon, and a bit of booze. Big, roasty, and decadent, though not a ton of coffee. The coffee notes I got were so dark and rich that they mingle closely with the roast notes and become indistinguishable. It’s chewy in the mouth, but has some biting carbonation that’s a bit unpleasant. Still, a wonderful beer.

So this was the first of the Stouts I tried from Southern Tier. And I’m not a big coffee guy in general, but I still found enjoyment in this beer. Dark brown pour with a light brown thick head. Its aroma was consumed by the jahva beans. same with the taste. Roasted malts all the way through. Good brew.

Flaske: Sort øl med et minimalt skumhoved. Ikke så god karbonering på denne øl, som Southern Tier ellers normalt har. Sød kaffe i duften. Smagen er kaffe domineret med en fin bitterhed fra malten. En tand sød og mundfylden er ikke så imponerende. Ellers fin øl.

Bomber Bottle. Dark deep pour with a thin head. Very strong coffee with a rich dark roast taste. Powerful enough to keep you warm on those cold days. Long lasting pallet

A: Pours as dark as night with a nice 2 finger head. The head dies down to just a small ring on the outer edge of the glass but there is some very wide lacing and oily residue left behind on the outside of the glass. S: Big dark aroma. I smell coffee, toffee, and chocolate covered cherries. This one malty masterpiece. Can’t wait for the taste. T: Love it! Very malty brew right from the start. Dark espresso, bakers chocolate, and cherries. It finishes with a hint of charcoal and the bitterness of fresh hops. The alcohol is present, but not over the top. A very well crafted beer no doubt about it. M: Very thick and oily. You could pass it off as brownie batter, very good brownie batter at that.

Black colored brew. Aroma is nice roasted malts, coffee. Creamy flavor, silky. Coffee flavor is great, sweet, not that bitter. Very well balanced. Nice drinkable Imperial Stout.
