Commercial Description:
St. Nicholas, aka Santa Claus, is a magical figure, the bringer of gifts and an icon of holiday spirit. Forgotten by most is his evil side kick and enforcer of ‘the list’. European tradition says while St. Nick is busy delivering presents to good little boys and girls, Krampus hands out punishments to the bad. A fanged, goat-horned bully, the Christmas Devil uses sticks and chains to beat the naughty children. Dark malts and aromatic hops create the diabolical spirit of this brew. It is finished with lager yeast and aged cold for no less than 30 days. This Imperial Helles Lager will warm even the darkest hearts. This season, replace the cookies with a bottle of Krampus. If he happens to pay a visit, toast to him with this devilish brew. Merry Kramp-mas to all, and to all a good pint!

Shared at AlohaC’s gathering. Yummy. Hoppy and malty. Reminded me of an Imperial red or IIPA something. I liked this one a lot. Thanks WeeHeavy.

bomber. Not my favorite. Looks great, tastes ok, smells not so good. Not horrible though; the hops are the saving grace.

22oz bottle from Swolf3, thanks Wolf. Copper pour with a white head. Malty and somewhat acidic aroma, very lager like.Pretty good hop bite too it, very clean with a nice alcohol warmth in the end, decent.

the hop flavor is kinda strange to me..and it seems a bit cloying and not that balanced...but perhaps I am just an idiot....and I have not really tried any imperial helles to match it to....thanks weeheavy for letting me try this...

22oz bomber opened by WeeHeavy at alohaCs 2008 end of the year tasting. Nice, very hoppy aroma. A little bit of ethanol amplifies the aroma. Earthy, grassy citrusy aroma. Very nice aroma. Easy to drink. Very nice. ST is great brewery.

Bottle share by ucusty. Clear dark amber pour and quickly disappearing head. Nothing lager-y about this beer. Strong resiny hops on the nose. Spicy from the hops and a little peppery. Some orange peel. Big and assertive; a little sharp and slightly soapy. As with many ST beers, big and interesting at first, but a bit much after a few tastes. Still solid.

22oz bomber. Orange amber color, a pinch hazy. Nice long lasting half inch head. Piny christmas tree aroma. Wow. This is one of the best and most original Winter beers Ive had in some time. Wonderfully combining hardcore piny with eastern euro pils hoppiness, almost peppery. Creamy and drinkable, very smooth on the palate. Great beer.

(22oz bottle) Small fluffy off-white head atop clear amber body. Aroma is moderately sweet, grapefruit/pine, light pepper. Taste is moderately sweet, pine/grapefruit, some pepper, alcohol. Sticky medium-full body, some acidity. Very enjoyable for what it is.
